CASO Design MG 20 Ecostyle Ceramic Microwave and Grill

The CASO Design MG 20 Ecostyle is a compact 20-litre microwave with a built-in 1000W grill, offering browning and crisping capability alongside standard microwave reheating in a smaller footprint than the 25-litre MG 25. The interior uses a flat CASOTEK glass base rather than a rotating turntable, which accommodates larger dishes and is straightforward to clean. Three combination programmes blend the 700W microwave and 1000W grill automatically, a sliding rack enables two-level cooking under the grill, and five microwave power levels with a 30-minute timer are operated via rotary knobs. The Caso-clean-protection interior coating resists grease and residue. A capable and practical choice for a smaller kitchen where worktop space matters.

Features:

Flat CASOTEK ceramic glass base: The flat ceramic glass floor replaces a rotating turntable, giving the full interior floor area to any dish shape and making the base considerably easier to clean than a plate-and-ring assembly.
700W microwave with 1000W grill: A 700-watt microwave element combines with a 1000-watt grill, allowing browning, crisping, and gratinating tasks that a microwave-only appliance cannot perform.
Three combination programmes: Three preset programmes combine microwave and grill functions in optimised ratios, removing the need to manually switch between functions mid-cook for common tasks.
Sliding rack for two-level cooking: An included sliding rack positions at two heights, allowing simultaneous cooking on two levels when using the grill function.
Caso-clean-protection interior coating: The interior walls are coated with CASO's clean-protection finish, which resists grease and makes wiping down the cavity quicker than an uncoated steel interior.

Care instructions:

After each use: Wipe the interior with a damp cloth while still slightly warm. The Caso-clean-protection coating resists grease, so light residue should come away easily. Pay attention to the ceiling near the grill element.
Ceramic glass base: Wipe the flat glass base clean with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive scourers on the glass surface.
Grill element: Allow the grill element to cool fully before wiping near it. Use a damp cloth to remove any splatter from the element area when cold.
Sliding rack: Remove the rack and wash in warm soapy water after use.
Exterior: Wipe the silver housing with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners on the exterior.
What to avoid: Do not use metal containers or foil in microwave mode. Do not operate the microwave when empty. Do not block the ventilation slots on the sides or rear of the appliance.

Questions and answers:

What is the difference between this and the CASO MG 25?
The MG 20 has a 20-litre capacity and 700W microwave power, compared to 25 litres and 900W for the MG 25. The grill power is the same at 1000W on both. The MG 20 is smaller overall at 46.5cm wide versus 50cm, and is priced lower at £99.99. The feature set is otherwise the same: flat ceramic base, three combination programmes, five power levels, and the Caso-clean-protection coating.

What can the grill function do that a standard microwave cannot?
The 1000W grill element produces direct radiant heat from the top of the cavity, which browns and crisps surfaces in a way microwave energy cannot. It is useful for gratins, melting and browning cheese, crisping reheated dishes, and finishing items that have been cooked through in the microwave but need a browned top. The combination programmes run both simultaneously for faster cooking with a browned result.

Does the flat base mean dishes do not rotate?
Yes. The flat CASOTEK glass base is fixed rather than rotating. The practical advantage is that rectangular dishes, large plates, and items with handles fit without obstruction, and cleaning the base is considerably simpler than removing and washing a turntable and ring.

How many power levels does the microwave have?
There are five microwave power levels, selectable via the rotary control alongside the 30-minute timer. Controls are rotary knobs rather than a digital touch panel.
