Coffee is 98% water, so water of the highest quality is essential to a great cup. The CLARIS Smart+ takes JURA's water filtration a step further and enhances protection, product safety and the service life of your machine. A capsule of natural active ingredients at the base stabilises the water in the tank, while the upper part filters exactly the right amount of water for each coffee. Thanks to RFID technology, your machine even recognises the filter for you.
Features
- Natural active ingredient capsule: Stabilises the water in the tank and reduces limescale deposits at its base.
- Up-flow filtering: Ion exchange and active carbon filter exactly the right amount of water for each cup.
- Automatic filter detection: RFID technology lets machines with I.W.S. recognise the filter and switch to filter mode.
- Suitable for all types of mains water: The formula works with mains water anywhere in the world.
- Greater hygiene: Less limescale and maximum cleanliness in the water tank.

Care
- Fitting and changing: A machine with I.W.S. recognises when a filter is inserted, switches to filter mode and starts the rinsing process. When the filter capacity is nearly used up, the machine prompts you to change it.
- Descaling: If the filter is not changed, the machine activates descaling mode. Descaling can only be done when the filter is removed.
Questions and Answers
Q: How long does a filter last?
A: It depends on your water hardness. Each cartridge treats up to 65 l at 1-5° dH, falling to up to 40 l at 26-30° dH. Machines with I.W.S. alert you when the capacity is nearly used up.
Q: Do I still need to descale?
A: Your machine will still prompt you to descale after a certain amount of use. Descaling can only be done with the filter removed, which avoids user error.
Q: What happens if I forget to change the filter?
A: If the filter is not changed, the machine activates descaling mode.
