Care

  • Before first use: Wash in warm, soapy water, then rinse and dry thoroughly. For the first fry, add enough vegetable or corn oil to cover the base, heat gently while rotating to coat the sides, then let cool and wipe clean with paper towels.
  • While cooking: Always use oven gloves when handling anything hot. Use Le Creuset silicone, wood or heat-resistant plastic tools where possible. Metal utensils may be used with care, but shouldn't be used harshly or scraped over the cooking surface.
  • Oven use: Place on a shelf or rack rather than the oven floor, which can increase cooking temperature and lead to damage.
  • Induction hobs: Avoid the 'boost' function, which is intended for rapidly heating large volumes of water rather than cooking.
  • Cleaning: Cool the pan for a few minutes before cleaning, and avoid plunging it into or filling it with cold water while hot, as this can cause damage from the sudden change in temperature.
  • Dishwasher: Dishwasher safe.
