Quick Overview: A PFAS-free ceramic non-stick saucepan in forged heavy-gauge aluminium, compatible with all hob types including induction, and backed by a 10-year Le Creuset guarantee.

Le Creuset Non-stick Ceramic Saucepan

The Le Creuset Non-stick Ceramic Saucepan is a versatile everyday pan built around a forged heavy-gauge aluminium body, which distributes heat evenly and helps avoid hot spots — particularly useful when simmering sauces or poaching at lower temperatures. The ceramic non-stick coating is applied throughout and is made without PFAS, providing reliable food release and making the pan straightforward to clean.

  • PFAS-free ceramic coating: Applied all over for consistent non-stick performance and easy cleanup, without the use of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances.
  • Forged heavy-gauge aluminium: Provides even heat distribution and efficient heat retention, reducing the likelihood of uneven cooking.
  • Fully encased stainless steel disc: Enables induction compatibility, making this pan suitable for all hob types — gas, electric, ceramic glass, and induction.
  • Oven safe to 280°C: (220°C when used with a heat-resistant Le Creuset glass lid), allowing you to start on the hob and finish in the oven.
  • Metal utensil safe: The durable coating is designed to withstand significant force penetration, so standard metal utensils can be used without voiding the warranty.
  • Reinforced rim: Helps prevent warping over time.
  • Stain resistant: The ceramic coating resists staining and maintains its appearance with regular use.

Available in 16cm, 18cm and 20cm, this saucepan is suited to everyday tasks — sauces, soups, poaching eggs, reheating — and carries Le Creuset's 10-year guarantee.

Ceramic vs PTFE Non-stick: What's the Difference?

PFAS-free Ceramic Coating

Ceramic coatings are made without PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances), which some customers prefer for health or environmental reasons. They typically perform well at moderate temperatures and release food effectively when new. Over time, ceramic coatings may require a little more care than PTFE to maintain performance — avoiding sudden temperature changes and very high heat will help extend the coating's life.

Traditional PTFE (e.g. Teflon-style) Coatings

Conventional PTFE non-stick coatings have a long track record and are often highly durable in everyday kitchen use. They do contain fluoropolymers (a category of PFAS), which is the primary reason some customers now prefer ceramic alternatives. If this distinction matters to you, the Le Creuset Essential Ceramic is the relevant choice in this range.

What Customers Ask About the Le Creuset Non-stick Ceramic Saucepan

Yes. The pan features a fully encased stainless steel disc base, which makes it compatible with induction hobs. It also works on gas, electric, and ceramic glass hobs.

According to Le Creuset, yes — the ceramic coating on this pan is made without PFAS. If this is important to you, it's worth checking Le Creuset's own documentation for the most up-to-date confirmation, as formulations can change.

Le Creuset states that this pan's coating is designed to withstand significant force penetration, making it metal utensil safe. That said, using silicone or wooden utensils will generally extend the life of any non-stick coating.

The pan itself is oven safe to 280°C. If you're using it with a heat-resistant Le Creuset glass lid, the maximum oven temperature drops to 220°C. Check the handle specification before placing in a very hot oven, and contact us if you're unsure.

The 16cm is well suited to smaller portions, sauces, and single-serve cooking. The 18cm is the most versatile all-rounder for everyday use — soups, sauces, poaching, reheating. The 20cm suits larger batches and family cooking. If you're regularly cooking for three or more, the 20cm is likely the better choice.

Le Creuset generally recommends hand washing for non-stick cookware to preserve the coating. We'd suggest checking the care guide included with your pan, or contacting us if you're unsure.

Care & Use Instructions

Before first use: Wash the pan in warm soapy water, rinse, and dry thoroughly before cooking for the first time.

Daily cleaning: Hand washing with warm soapy water and a soft cloth or sponge is recommended to preserve the ceramic coating. Avoid abrasive scourers.

Utensils: Although rated as metal utensil safe, silicone or wooden utensils will help maintain the coating's condition over time.

Storage: If stacking pans, place a soft cloth or pan protector between them to prevent surface scratching.
