Care
- Before first use: Wash in warm, soapy water, then rinse and dry thoroughly.
- While cooking: Always use oven gloves when handling anything hot. Use Le Creuset silicone, wood or heat-resistant plastic tools where possible. Metal utensils can be used with care but shouldn't be used harshly or scraped over the surface. Cook on a medium or low heat and let it heat up gradually, and use the most appropriately sized hob ring, especially on induction.
- Glass hobs: Never slide the casserole across a glass-topped hob, as this can damage both the base and the glass. Always lift it on, off, or across the surface.
- Everyday cleaning and the patina: Clean with water alone where possible, rather than soap, to help the enamel interior develop its natural non-stick patina over time.
- Cleaning stuck-on food: Let it cool before cleaning. Wipe off any leftovers, and soak stuck-on food in warm soapy water for 15 to 20 minutes before washing. Avoid abrasive cleaners, metal scourers or stiff brushes. Dry well and store in a dry place.
- Washing: We recommend handwashing rather than the dishwasher, to protect the enamel finish over time.
Questions and Answers
Q: Is it dishwasher safe?
A: We recommend handwashing rather than the dishwasher, to protect the enamel finish over time.
Q: How should I clean it day to day?
A: For everyday cleaning, water alone is best, as this helps the natural patina develop on the enamel interior. Warm soapy water is fine for first use or for soaking off stuck-on food.
Q: Is it suitable for induction hobs?
A: Yes. Just make sure you use it on the most appropriately sized ring, as using the wrong size on an induction hob can mean it doesn't get recognised.
Q: Is this a seasonal design or part of the regular range?
A: It's a distinctive seasonal piece, ideal for autumnal tablescapes, rather than a permanent part of the standard range.
