Care

  • Before first use: Remove all labels and packaging, then wash in warm, soapy water, rinse and dry thoroughly.
  • In the oven: Always use oven gloves. Under the grill, leave at least 6.5cm between the heat and the top of the dish. Don't put a frozen dish into a preheated oven: put it in a cold oven and let them heat up together.
  • Cleaning: Let it cool before cleaning. Soak any stuck-on food in warm, soapy water for 15 to 20 minutes, then wash by hand or in the dishwasher.

Questions and Answers

Q: Will food stick to it?
A: Very little. The glaze is virtually non-stick, so baked-on cheese or pudding usually rinses away without scrubbing.

Q: Will it stain?
A: Le Creuset's glaze is made to resist stains and flavour absorption. That means tomato sauces and fruit fillings shouldn't leave a mark or a lingering smell.

Q: Can I use it on the hob?
A: No. Stoneware should never go on a hob or any other direct heat source, as it could crack. Use it in the oven, under the grill or in the microwave instead.
