Made for the bigger grating jobs, from rösti and coleslaw to courgette fritters. The extra coarse blade turns potato, carrot, cabbage and soft cheese into long, even shreds with very little effort.

Features

  • Photo-etched blade: Ultra-sharp extra coarse blade, made in the USA, cuts food cleanly rather than tearing it.
  • Soft-touch handle: Ergonomic grip that stays comfortable while you grate.
  • Non-slip rubber foot: Rests steadily at an angle on a board or plate as you work.
  • Hanging notch: Hang it on a rail or hook so it's always to hand.

Specifications

Care

  • Daily cleaning: Rinse under running water straight after use, before food dries on, then let it drip dry.
  • Washing: Handwash only, in warm soapy water. The dishwasher blunts and chips fine blades over time, so they won't stay as sharp.

Questions and Answers

Q: What's the difference between the Gourmet, Master and Black Sheep graters?
A: They share the same photo-etched, made-in-the-USA blades. The Gourmet Series has a soft-touch plastic handle, the Master Series a walnut handle, and the Black Sheep Series is black PVD-coated stainless steel from end to end. Choose by the handle you prefer to hold and how you want it to look.

Q: Can I grate mozzarella with it?
A: Yes. The extra coarse blade suits soft cheese, especially if you chill it first so it holds its shape. Finer blades tend to clog with soft cheese.

Q: Is it good for rösti and hash browns?
A: It's ideal. The long shreds hold together well in the pan, and squeezing out the water first helps them crisp up.
