The Smart Grill Pro is built around two things that make a real difference to cooking meat at home: serious heat and a probe that tells you when to stop. With 2400W heating elements embedded directly into the plates, it reaches and holds a high, consistent sear temperature without the fluctuations you get from elements positioned underneath. The integrated probe links to an LCD display where you select the meat type and your preferred doneness, and the machine tells you when to take it off to rest. The plates are removable and PFOA-free for straightforward cleaning, and the grill opens completely flat for a 260 square inch surface when you want to cook larger cuts, seafood, eggs, or pancakes.

FEATURES

Integrated meat probe: The probe measures the internal temperature of your meat and feeds back to the LCD display, indicating when to remove it based on your chosen doneness setting.

2400W embedded heating elements: Heating elements are built directly into the plates rather than positioned underneath them, delivering consistent high heat for searing with reduced preheating time.

Five meat settings with doneness control: Beef, lamb, pork, poultry, and fish each have programmed temperature ranges covering rare through to well done, selectable via the LCD display.

Opens flat to BBQ mode: The grill opens completely flat to give a 260 square inch cooking surface, suitable for larger cuts, seafood, eggs, and pancakes.

Removable PFOA-free plates: The cast aluminium non-stick plates are removable for hand washing, and the adjustable plate tilt drains fat away during cooking or levels out for eggs and sandwiches.

CARE

Before first use: Wipe the plates with a damp cloth before using for the first time. Run the grill through a short heat cycle without food to condition the plates.

Removing and cleaning the plates: Allow the grill to cool fully before removing the plates. Hand wash with warm soapy water and a soft cloth or sponge. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scourers as these will damage the non-stick coating. Check the manual before placing in the dishwasher.

Cleaning the drip tray: The removable drip tray should be emptied and washed after each use. Hand wash with warm soapy water. Check the manual for dishwasher compatibility.

Cleaning the probe: Wipe the probe with a damp cloth after each use. Do not immerse the probe in water.

Cleaning the housing: Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the machine in water or allow liquid to enter the base unit.

What to avoid: Do not use metal utensils on the cooking plates as these will scratch the non-stick surface. Do not use abrasive cleaning products. Allow the grill to cool before handling the plates or probe.

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

Can I use the probe for all types of food, or just meat?
The probe settings cover five categories: beef, lamb, pork, poultry, and fish. Each has programmed target temperatures based on doneness preference. It's designed specifically for these protein types rather than as a general-purpose temperature probe.

Are the plates dishwasher safe?
The plates are removable and designed for hand washing. Sage has not confirmed dishwasher safety for them in the product specifications, so we'd recommend hand washing with warm soapy water and a soft cloth to preserve the non-stick coating.

What does the adjustable height control do?
The adjustable height control lets you reduce the pressure the top plate applies to food. This is useful for more delicate items like fish or toasted sandwiches where you don't want the filling pressed out, and it also allows you to grill thicker cuts without forcing the plates to close fully.

How does the adjustable plate tilt work?
The base angle can be adjusted so that fat drains away from the food during cooking, which is useful for fattier cuts of meat. It can also be levelled out for cooking eggs, pancakes, or toasted sandwiches where you want the surface flat.
