Perfect for longer cuts of meat. Try roasting a chicken with the lid on for a succulent bird that falls off the bone and keeps your oven clean in the process.
As versatile as Le Creuset's Signature Cast Iron Round Casserole, the Cast Iron Oval Casserole is also large enough to roast a whole leg of lamb and narrow enough to leave extra space in the oven for the trimmings.
Now Le Creuset is proud to introduce the new Signature Cast Iron Oval Casserole Meringue. New features include: easy-grip, 45% larger handles; easy clean, toughened enamel interior; a stylish, heat resistant stainless steel knob and an enhanced tight-fitting lid.
Suitable for use on all hob types, including induction, and in the oven, the casserole makes a perfect serving dish too as cast iron keeps food warmer for longer at the table.
Individually cast in sand moulds and hand crafted at the original French foundry since 1925, Le Creuset casserole dishes are protected by a Lifetime Guarantee for total peace of mind.
Each casserole comes with a signature stainless steel knob ergonomically designed for a much better grip and easy lifting - even when wearing bulky oven gloves. Stylish and long lasting, they add additional shine to Le Creuset Cast Iron Casseroles and are safe at any oven temperature.
The new, modern neutral from Le Creuset is inspired by the subtle warmth of toasted meringues. The new Meringue tone creates intentional simplicity in the kitchen.

Before first use
Remove all labels. Wash in hot soapy water, rinse and dry thoroughly. The enamelled cooking surface is ready to use and requires no further preparation.
Always cool for a few minutes before washing in hot soapy water. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
Do not fill with cold water or plunge into cold water, as thermal shock damage to the enamel may occur.
If there are food residues, fill with warm water and leave to soak for 15 - 20 minutes, then wash in the usual way. Nylon or soft abrasive pads or brushes can be used to remove stubborn residues. Do not use metallic pads, or harsh abrasive cleaning agents as these will damage the enamel and polished trims.
Black enamel cooking surfaces will, over time, produce a patina (a brownish film). Do not attempt to clean this off as it enhances the cooking performance and food release from this surface.
