The Wimbledon drink, done properly. Fresh strawberries, good vodka, and a dry sparkling wine to lift it. No lurid syrups required.

English sparkling wine works brilliantly here and keeps things local. Adjust the sugar syrup to taste depending on how sweet your strawberries are — peak-season fruit may need none at all.
