The Graef WK350 is a glass kettle built with tea drinkers firmly in mind, though it has plenty to offer coffee fans too. The body is made from SCHOTT DURAN heat-resistant borosilicate glass, which means you can watch the water heat and there is no plastic in contact with the water at any point. A removable stainless steel tea strainer lid lets you brew tea directly in the kettle, and the touch display on the base makes setting temperature straightforward, with preset options at 60, 70, and 80 degrees C, a filter coffee setting around 93 degrees C, and a full boil. The 30-minute keep-warm function and residual heat indicator round off a thoughtful set of features for something that covers a lot of hot-drink ground in one appliance.
- SCHOTT DURAN glass body: The heat-resistant borosilicate glass body is produced by DWK Life Sciences and enclosed in a stainless steel housing, ensuring water contacts only glass or steel at all times.
- Temperature presets and touch display: Set water temperature via the base touch display at 60, 70, or 80 degrees C, a filter coffee function at approximately 93 degrees C, or full boil, with a residual heat indicator.
- Built-in tea strainer lid: An additional lid with a lowerable stainless steel tea strainer lets you brew loose leaf tea directly in the kettle, eliminating the need for a separate teapot.
- 30-minute keep-warm function: After reaching the target temperature, the kettle holds the heat for up to 30 minutes, useful when brewing tea in stages or when there is a gap between making and drinking.
- LED lighting and safety features: Built-in LED lighting illuminates the water level when the kettle is in use, complemented by dry-run and overheating protection and automatic switch-off.
What Customers Ask About This Product
Can I brew tea directly in the kettle rather than in a separate pot?
Yes, that is one of the WK350's main selling points. The additional lid includes a lowerable stainless steel tea strainer, so you add your loose leaf tea, lower the strainer, and brew at the temperature you have set. It saves washing up a separate teapot and keeps everything in one vessel.
What temperature settings are available?
The touch display on the base offers presets at 60, 70, and 80 degrees C, a filter coffee function at around 93 degrees C, and a full boil at 100 degrees C. The residual heat indicator shows when the water is still hot from a previous cycle.
Is the glass body durable? I am worried about dropping it.
The glass is SCHOTT DURAN borosilicate, which is the same material used in laboratory glassware and is significantly more resistant to thermal shock than standard glass. That said, it is still glass, so dropping it on a hard floor is likely to break it. The stainless steel housing provides some protection against knocks during normal use.
In our experience...
Temperature matters more for tea than most people realise. Boiling water at 100 degrees C is actually too hot for most teas other than black tea and herbal infusions. Green tea brewed at 100 degrees C turns bitter in seconds. The WK350's temperature presets make it easy to get this right without guesswork.
Brewing directly in the kettle is a genuine time saver. The built-in strainer means you avoid transferring hot water between vessels and then cleaning a separate teapot. For one or two cups of loose leaf tea, this is a meaningfully simpler process.
DURAN glass is not the same as standard glass. Borosilicate glass handles rapid temperature changes far better than ordinary glass, which is why it is used in lab equipment and quality bakeware. It is still breakable, but thermal cracking from hot water is not a concern.
The keep-warm function changes how you think about making tea. If you make a pot and then get distracted, the keep-warm function means the water is still at the right temperature when you come back. It removes the need to re-boil, which would change the temperature profile and potentially affect the taste.
No plastic water contact is more noticeable with delicate teas. With strongly flavoured black teas, any faint plastic taint from a standard kettle is masked. With green, white, or oolong teas, it becomes perceptible. An all-glass and stainless steel interior removes that variable entirely.

Care & Use Instructions
Before first use: Rinse the kettle and both lids with clean water before using for the first time.
Limescale filter: Remove the stainless steel limescale filter and rinse it regularly. In hard water areas this should be done more frequently. It is washable and reusable.
Tea strainer lid: After each use, remove the tea strainer lid and rinse the strainer thoroughly to prevent tea residue from building up. It can be washed in warm soapy water.
Descaling: Descale the glass body periodically using a kettle descaler or citric acid solution. Avoid vinegar, which may leave a taste or affect the stainless steel filter over time.
Glass body: The glass body can be wiped clean with a damp cloth on the outside. Do not use abrasive scourers. The removable lid gives full access to the inside for easy rinsing.
What to avoid: Do not immerse the base station in water. Do not fill above the 1-litre maximum. Do not operate without water. Handle the glass body with care to avoid impact damage.
