What Customers Ask About Jamie Oliver Big Love Board
How do I care for a mango wood board?
Hand-wash only with warm soapy water, then dry immediately with a towel. Never soak or put in the dishwasher, as prolonged water exposure can cause wood to crack or warp. Periodically treat with food-safe mineral oil to maintain the wood's appearance and prevent drying.
Can I cut directly on this board?
Whilst mango wood is relatively durable, this board is designed primarily as a serving platter rather than a cutting board. Knife marks will accumulate over time if used for cutting. For best longevity, prepare food on a separate cutting board and use this for presentation.
What does FSC-certified mean?
FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certification ensures the wood comes from responsibly managed forests that provide environmental, social and economic benefits. It's an internationally recognised standard for sustainable forestry.
How many people can this board serve?
The 57cm length provides ample space for entertaining 6-10 people with charcuterie, cheese, or party food. The generous surface area allows you to create impressive spreads with plenty of variety.
Why shouldn't I put this in the dishwasher?
Dishwashers expose wood to prolonged heat and moisture, which causes warping, cracking and splitting. The harsh detergents also strip natural oils from the wood. Hand-washing and immediate drying preserves the board's integrity and appearance.
Will the wood colour change over time?
Natural wood typically darkens slightly with age and exposure to light, which is normal. Regular oiling helps maintain the wood's appearance. Each mango wood board also has unique grain patterns, so natural variation in colour is expected.

Care & Maintenance Instructions
Daily cleaning: Hand-wash with warm soapy water immediately after use. Dry thoroughly with a clean towel straight away - never leave wood to air dry or soak in water.
Critical - never dishwasher: Wood and dishwashers don't mix. The prolonged exposure to heat and moisture causes warping, cracking and splitting. Always hand-wash only.
Oil treatment: Periodically treat the board with food-safe mineral oil or dedicated wood board oil. This prevents the wood from drying out, maintains its appearance, and provides some moisture resistance. Apply oil when the wood looks dry, typically every 1-2 months depending on use.
Removing stains or odours: For stubborn stains, make a paste with baking soda and water, gently rub, then rinse and dry immediately. For odours, wipe with lemon juice, rinse, and dry thoroughly.
What to avoid: Never soak in water, place in the dishwasher, use harsh chemicals, or expose to extreme temperature changes. Don't use the board as a hot pad for pots and pans.
Storage: Store in a dry place with good air circulation. If storing vertically, ensure it's stable. Avoid damp cupboards or areas with temperature fluctuations.
Natural characteristics: Some colour variation, minor grain irregularities, or small knots are natural features of mango wood and add to each board's unique character. The wood may also develop a natural patina over time, which is normal and desirable.

Frequently Asked Questions
What if I've used it and don't like it?
Return it anyway. Our no quibble guarantee covers used items - if it doesn't do what you wanted, we'll refund you. This applies even after you've served food on it.
How does the Half-Price Replacement guarantee work?
Valid for 2 years from purchase date. If you accidentally break this board, we'll replace it at half price with proof of purchase and evidence of breakage. Photos of the damage are acceptable.
How long does delivery take?
Standard delivery to mainland UK addresses can take up to 7 working days, but is usually 3-4, and is free for orders over £49. Next day delivery may be available for £9.95 on orders placed before 1pm Monday to Thursday, depending on your location and our stock levels. You can also collect from our shops in Cobham or Reigate, or our warehouse in Redhill.
Can I serve hot food directly on this board?
Brief contact with warm food is fine, but avoid placing very hot items directly on the wood as extreme heat can cause damage. Use small dishes or ramekins for hot dips or sauces rather than pouring them directly onto the board.
