The Microplane Rotary Grater's classic design is an innovative kitchen gadget that delivers maximum results with minimal effort. With a photo-etched, ultra-sharp fine blade made in the USA, it grates hard cheese, chocolate and nuts easily and accurately directly over your dishes. The wide hopper opening makes it possible to process larger amounts at once, and the funnel-shaped blade lets grated food gradually fall from the drum as you turn the crank.
- Photo-etched, ultra-sharp blade: Made in the USA, grates cheese, chocolate and nuts effortlessly.
- Large hopper: Holds generous amounts for grating in one go.
- Funnel-shaped design: Grated results dispense quickly and easily as you crank.
- Easy to assemble and disassemble: Genuinely simple to take apart for cleaning.
- Ergonomic soft-touch handle: Comfortable to hold while turning the crank.
What Customers Ask About This Product
Is it dishwasher safe?
No, handwash this grater, since it has a sharp blade and dishwashers can blunt and chip cutting edges over time.
How do I clean it day to day?
Simply rinse under running water and allow to drip dry.
How do I take it apart?
Hold the outer ring of the drum with one hand and firmly turn the crank arm anticlockwise with the other to separate the drum and handle.
In our experience...
Grating directly over the dish is a genuine convenience, not just a party trick. It means less mess and no separate grating board or bowl to wash up afterwards.
The wide hopper is built for real batches, not just a light dusting. Being able to load a generous amount at once means less stopping and refilling mid-use.
A blade like this benefits from handwashing, regardless of what's technically safe. Dishwashers can blunt and chip cutting edges over time, which shortens the life of any bladed tool.
Easy disassembly is what keeps a rotary grater genuinely usable long term. Being able to separate the drum and handle properly means food residue doesn't build up unnoticed inside.
