Spiegelau Definition Soft Drink Tumblers
The Spiegelau Definition Soft Drink Tumblers are a set of 4 machine-made crystal glass tumblers designed specifically for soft drinks and mixed drinks. Designed in 2023, the Definition collection builds on two earlier Spiegelau ranges - the Willsberger (1982) and Hybrid (2011) - using proprietary manufacturing technology to produce glasses that are notably thin and light without sacrificing durability.
At 490ml capacity and 110mm in height, these tumblers have a generous capacity that provides plenty of room for both liquid and ice - a practical consideration for long drinks served over ice, juices, or soft drinks with garnish. The clear crystal construction and clean tumbler profile suit a wide range of table settings and occasions.
- Generous 490ml capacity: Plenty of space for soft drinks, mixed drinks, and ice
- Thin yet durable crystal: Proprietary machine-made technology produces a glass that feels refined in hand without compromising on everyday robustness
- Versatile tumbler format: Clean, unfussy profile suits casual and more formal settings alike
- Dishwasher safe: Tested to EN 12875 standards; capable of withstanding 1,000 wash cycles under good operating conditions
- Set of 4: All four glasses are included at the price shown
These tumblers are a practical, well-made choice for households that regularly serve soft drinks or long mixed drinks and want glassware that looks good and is easy to maintain.
What Customers Ask About the Spiegelau Definition Soft Drink Tumblers
How many glasses are included?
This product is sold as a set of 4 glasses. The price shown is for all four together.
What drinks are these designed for?
Spiegelau designed these specifically as soft drink and mixed drink tumblers. The generous 490ml capacity provides plenty of space for both liquid and ice, making them well suited to soft drinks, juices, and long mixed drinks. The larger capacity compared to the Definition Water Glass makes these the more practical choice wherever ice is a regular part of service.
What is the difference between this and the Definition Water Glass?
The Soft Drink Tumbler has a larger capacity (490ml versus 425ml) and is slightly taller (110mm versus 95mm). Spiegelau specifically designed the Soft Drink Tumbler to accommodate ice alongside the drink, making it the better choice for long drinks over ice, whilst the Water Glass is proportioned for straightforward water service. Both are part of the same Definition collection and share the same crystal glass construction.
Are these safe to put in the dishwasher?
Yes. The Definition Soft Drink Tumblers are dishwasher safe and have been tested to EN 12875 standards, with clarity and shine maintained over 1,000 wash cycles under good operating conditions. Use a low-temperature programme (50-55°C), ensure the glasses do not touch each other or other items, and open the dishwasher door after the cycle to let moisture escape. Handwashing is always an option if you prefer to extend the life of the glass surface.
What is the Definition collection?
The Definition collection is an evolution of two earlier Spiegelau ranges: the Willsberger (1982) and the Hybrid (2011). Using proprietary new manufacturing technology, Definition produces thin, light, machine-made crystal glasses with excellent consistency between pieces. The Soft Drink Tumbler was designed in 2023.

Care & Use Instructions
Dishwasher use: Load glasses with enough space between them so they do not touch each other, other glasses, or metal items such as utensils. Use the top rack and any dedicated glass holder if your dishwasher has one. Select a low-temperature programme at 50-55°C, or a specialist glassware programme if available. Do not overdose detergent or rinse aid, and keep the dishwasher topped up with rinse aid and salt matched to your local water hardness. After the cycle, open the door to let steam escape rather than allowing it to settle on the glass surface. Do not wash alongside aluminium items, as chemical reactions between aluminium and crystal glass can cause irreversible corrosion.
Handwashing: Wash gently under warm (not hot or boiling) water with a small amount of mild washing-up liquid. Rinse thoroughly with clean water. Use two microfibre polishing cloths for drying - not a tea towel, which can scratch the surface. Avoid drying glasses upside down on a metal rack, as this can damage the rim.
Polishing: Hold the glass in one hand using a dry microfibre cloth and use a second cloth to polish the inside and outside carefully. For water spots, add a small amount of white vinegar or citric acid to the final rinse water to dissolve limescale deposits. Note that glass corrosion - where the glass structure itself is damaged - cannot be reversed, so correct washing practice from the outset is important.
Storage: Store upright in a clean, dry location away from strongly scented items, as crystal glass can absorb surrounding odours. Never stack glasses or store them rim-down. Rinse glasses promptly after use - fruit acids from juices and soft drinks can attack the glass surface if left to sit for extended periods.
Microfibre cloths: Wash polishing cloths at 60°C with odourless soap. Do not use fabric softener, and do not tumble dry.

How are the glasses packaged for delivery?
We pack all glassware carefully with protective packaging to help ensure safe arrival. The Spiegelau Definition Soft Drink Tumblers are supplied in Spiegelau's standard retail box.
My glass has become cloudy - what should I do?
Clouding can have two causes. Limescale or detergent deposits can usually be removed by rinsing with a mild acid such as white vinegar or citric acid solution. Glass corrosion - where the glass structure itself is affected, appearing as a white coating - cannot be reversed. Correct dishwasher settings (appropriate temperature, rinse aid levels, and avoiding aluminium items in the same wash) help prevent corrosion from occurring in the first place.
