Quick Overview: A Mikasa 12cm stoneware nibble bowl with 250ml capacity, textured geometric exterior, and footed base. Available in six colourways to coordinate with the Mikasa mug, side plate, and ramen bowl range. Microwave and dishwasher safe.

Mikasa Stoneware Nibble Bowl 12cm

This Mikasa nibble bowl measures 12cm across and holds 250ml, making it a practical size for dips, sauces, olives, nuts, and small snacks. Like the rest of the Mikasa stoneware range, it features a textured geometric exterior and a footed base, and it is available in the full set of six colourways: Indigo Chevron, Grey Floral, Blue Arc, Geometric Lime, Blue Mosaic, and Yellow Blue Geometric. It is both microwave and dishwasher safe, and the footed base lifts it slightly from the table for easier handling and a neater presentation on a shared spread.

  • 12cm diameter, 250ml capacity: A compact nibble bowl well-suited to dips, condiments, olives, nuts, and small snacks for one or shared
  • Stoneware construction: Durable and chip-resistant for everyday use, with better heat retention than porcelain if used for warm dips or sauces
  • Textured geometric exterior: Provides grip and coordinates visually with the Mikasa mug, side plate, and ramen bowl
  • Footed base: Raises the bowl from the table surface, making it easier to pick up and giving it a considered look on a shared table
  • Microwave and dishwasher safe: Confirmed by the manufacturer for both uses
  • Six colourways: Indigo Chevron, Grey Floral, Blue Arc, Geometric Lime, Blue Mosaic, and Yellow Blue Geometric

A versatile addition to any table setting, whether used for entertaining, sharing snacks, or serving sauces and condiments alongside a main dish.

What Customers Ask About the Mikasa Stoneware Nibble Bowl

What is 250ml and 12cm useful for in practice?

At 12cm across and 250ml capacity, this is a compact serving bowl rather than a personal food bowl. It is well-suited to a portion of hummus or dip for two to three people, a small handful of olives or nuts, a ramekin-style portion of sauce, or a single-person snack portion. It is not large enough to serve as a side dish for a main course in the way the 21cm ramen bowl would be.

Can it be used for warm dips or sauces?

Yes. The bowl is microwave safe, so it can be used to warm dips or sauces directly in the bowl before serving. Stoneware retains heat reasonably well once warmed, which helps keep contents at temperature on the table for longer than a thin ceramic or glass bowl would. Handle with care after microwaving as the stoneware itself will become warm.

Does this bowl coordinate with the rest of the Mikasa range on this site?

Yes. The nibble bowl shares the same textured geometric design family and all six colourways with the Mikasa Stoneware Ramen Bowl and Side Plate. Four of the six colourways (Indigo Chevron, Grey Floral, Blue Arc, Geometric Lime) also appear on the Mikasa Stoneware Mug. This makes it straightforward to build a coordinated table setting across the full range.

How many nibble bowls would I need for a sharing table?

That depends on what you are serving. For a spread with three or four different dips or snacks, three to four bowls is a practical starting point. Each bowl is available individually, so you can order as many as you need in the same colourway or mix colourways for a more varied look. Contact us if you want to check stock levels across colourways before ordering in quantity.

Does the footed base make the bowls harder to stack for storage?

The footed base means the bowls do not nest as flush as flat-based designs, so they take up slightly more vertical space when stacked. For a small number of bowls this is unlikely to be a significant issue, but if storage space is limited it is worth bearing in mind before ordering several. Stacking carefully with the feet resting on the rim of the bowl below will keep them stable.

Care & Use

Dishwasher: Confirmed dishwasher safe. Place on the top rack where possible to reduce the risk of impact with other items during the wash cycle.

Microwave: Confirmed microwave safe. The stoneware will absorb some heat during microwaving, so handle carefully after use.

Hand washing: If hand washing, warm soapy water and a non-abrasive cloth will protect the glazed interior and exterior finish over time.

Storage: Stack with care. The footed base means bowls do not nest flush, so avoid stacking too many high. A cloth or plate separator between bowls will help prevent surface scuffs on the glaze.

Rest of the World

If your country is not listed — including the USA, Australia, and other destinations — this is most likely because couriers charge by volumetric weight: a combination of package size and weight that makes standard online rates impractical to calculate automatically.

Please call us on 01737 222996 with the details of your order. We will advise on shipping costs within 24 hours and ask whether you would like to proceed.

Before you order internationally, please note:

All overseas shipments are at your own risk. We recommend taking out appropriate transit insurance to cover any damage in transit.

Customs forms for all international packages declare the full value and a description of the contents. Any customs or import duties levied on arrival in your country are your responsibility. Your local customs office can provide further information.
