Quick Overview: Dual-function bartender tool combines beechwood muddler and aluminium citrus reamer - saves drawer space whilst covering essential cocktail-making tasks.

Kikkerland Muddler & Citrus Squeezer

This dual-function cocktail tool addresses two fundamental bartending requirements in a single 13cm implement. One end features a beechwood muddler for releasing essential oils from herbs and crushing fruit, whilst the opposite end provides an aluminium citrus reamer for extracting fresh juice from lemons, limes, and small oranges. The design eliminates the need for separate tools, saving both drawer space and the time spent switching between implements during cocktail preparation.

The beechwood construction offers natural grip and appropriate weight for effective muddling without excessive force that might bruise delicate herbs. The aluminium reamer features ridges designed to maximise juice extraction whilst straining seeds. At 5.1cm diameter, the muddler end fits standard rocks glasses and shakers. Key features include:

  • Dual functionality: Muddler and citrus reamer in one tool
  • Beechwood construction: Natural material provides grip and appropriate weight
  • Aluminium reamer: Corrosion-resistant metal with effective ridge design
  • Space-saving design: 13.3cm length replaces two separate bar tools
  • Appropriate sizing: 5.1cm diameter suits standard glassware

This is designed for home bartenders seeking quality tools without cluttering limited drawer space, cocktail enthusiasts who value natural materials, or anyone regularly making drinks that require both muddling and fresh citrus juice.

What Customers Ask About the Muddler & Citrus Squeezer

Is beechwood safe for use with citrus juice?

Yes, beechwood is suitable for contact with acidic citrus juice. However, wash and dry the tool promptly after use to prevent prolonged exposure to moisture and acids, which can gradually affect the wood finish over time.

Can I put this in the dishwasher?

Hand washing is strongly recommended for beechwood tools. Dishwashers use high heat and harsh detergents that can damage wood, causing it to crack, warp, or lose its finish. The aluminium component is also better maintained with hand washing.

What cocktails can I make with this tool?

Use the muddler for mojitos, caipirinhas, mint juleps, or old fashioneds. The citrus reamer works for margaritas, daiquiris, whisky sours, or any cocktail requiring fresh lemon or lime juice. Having both functions in one tool covers most classic cocktail requirements.

Care & Use Instructions

Before first use: Wash in warm soapy water to remove any manufacturing residue. Dry thoroughly before storing. Consider treating the beechwood with food-safe mineral oil to enhance moisture resistance.

Using as a muddler: Place herbs, fruit, or sugar in the bottom of your glass or shaker. Use the flat beechwood end with gentle pressing and twisting motions. Avoid aggressive crushing, particularly with herbs, which can release bitter compounds.

Using as a reamer: Halve your citrus fruit and hold it over your glass or container. Press the aluminium reamer into the flesh and twist to extract juice. The ridges will catch most seeds whilst maximising juice extraction.

Cleaning after use: Hand wash in warm soapy water immediately after use. Pay particular attention to the reamer ridges where citrus pulp may collect. Dry thoroughly with a cloth rather than air drying to prevent water damage to the wood.

Maintaining the beechwood: If the wood appears dry or loses its lustre, treat it with food-safe mineral oil. Apply a small amount, allow it to absorb for a few hours, then wipe off any excess. This helps maintain moisture resistance and appearance.

Storage: Store in a dry location with good air circulation. Avoid storing whilst damp or in sealed containers, which may promote mould growth on the wood.

Avoid: Dishwashers, which will damage the beechwood. Prolonged soaking in water. Leaving citrus juice on the tool for extended periods. Using excessive force during muddling, which may damage the wood.

Rest of the World

If your country is not listed — including the USA, Australia, and other destinations — this is most likely because couriers charge by volumetric weight: a combination of package size and weight that makes standard online rates impractical to calculate automatically.

Please call us on 01737 222996 with the details of your order. We will advise on shipping costs within 24 hours and ask whether you would like to proceed.

Before you order internationally, please note:

All overseas shipments are at your own risk. We recommend taking out appropriate transit insurance to cover any damage in transit.

Customs forms for all international packages declare the full value and a description of the contents. Any customs or import duties levied on arrival in your country are your responsibility. Your local customs office can provide further information.
