Joseph Joseph DrySmart Bottle Drying Rack Stone
This folding bottle drying rack provides organized air-drying for up to four bottles and their lids whilst taking up minimal worktop space. The stainless-steel rail holds bottles upside down, allowing water to drain efficiently into the integrated base tray below. Thermoplastic rubber grips secure each bottle in place during drying, preventing slipping or toppling. When not in use, the rack folds completely flat—just 3cm high—making it easy to store in a drawer or cupboard.
The drip-catching base collects water as bottles drain, keeping your worktop dry and preventing pooling. Non-slip rubber feet keep the rack stable and protect work surfaces from scratching. Made with a minimum of 25% post-consumer recycled plastic in the body, this rack reflects Joseph Joseph's commitment to environmental responsibility whilst maintaining quality and functionality. The Stone colourway provides a neutral, contemporary aesthetic that complements modern kitchens.

What Customers Ask About DrySmart Bottle Drying Rack
What size bottles does this accommodate?
The rack accommodates standard baby bottles, reusable water bottles, sports bottles, and travel mugs. The thermoplastic rubber grips are designed to hold various bottle neck sizes securely. Very wide-necked containers or unusually shaped bottles may not fit the grips properly. Measure your bottles' neck diameter if you're concerned about fit—standard baby bottles and most reusable water bottles work well.
How do I empty the water from the base?
The drip-catching base collects water as bottles drain. To empty, remove any bottles from the rack, then either tilt the entire rack to pour water into the sink, or lift the base section if it's removable on your model. Empty the base regularly to prevent overflow and maintain hygiene. The process takes just seconds and keeps your worktop dry throughout the drying process.
How does the folding mechanism work?
The rack features a simple folding mechanism that collapses the frame flat for storage. When open for use, it stands at full height to hold bottles. When finished, release the mechanism (typically by pressing or lifting a lever) and fold the sides down until the rack lies flat at just 3cm height. The folded rack stores easily in a drawer, cupboard, or beside other kitchen items.
Can I dry lids and teats as well as bottles?
Yes, the rack holds up to 4 bottles and their lids. Smaller components like bottle lids, teats, or caps can typically rest on the base or lean against the frame whilst drying. The design accommodates the various components that come with baby bottles or reusable bottles, keeping everything together in one organized location whilst air-drying.
Will the rubber grips damage bottles?
No. The thermoplastic rubber grips are designed to hold bottles securely without causing damage or leaving marks. The soft rubber material cushions the bottle whilst providing enough friction to prevent slipping. This combination protects both plastic and glass bottles during the drying process. Simply place bottles neck-down in the grips—no forcing required.

Care & Use Instructions
Before first use: Remove any packaging materials and labels. Wipe the rack with a damp cloth to remove any dust from manufacturing or transport. Dry thoroughly, paying particular attention to the stainless-steel rail and rubber components. Unfold the rack fully and ensure the folding mechanism operates smoothly.
Setting up: Place the rack on a clean, dry worktop near your sink or washing area. Unfold the mechanism until it clicks or locks into the open position. The non-slip rubber feet should sit flat against the worktop surface, providing stability. Position the rack where you have easy access when placing freshly washed bottles.
Using the rack: After washing bottles, shake out excess water and place them neck-down into the rubber grips on the stainless-steel rail. The thermoplastic rubber grips should hold bottles securely without requiring force—simply press gently until the bottle settles into place. Position lids, teats, or other components on the base or lean them against the frame to air-dry alongside the bottles.
During drying: Water drains from the inverted bottles into the base tray. Check the base periodically and empty it before water accumulates to the point of potential overflow. The drip-catching design keeps your worktop dry, but regular emptying maintains optimal hygiene and prevents standing water.
Emptying the base: Once bottles have drained, remove them from the rack. Tilt the entire rack over your sink to pour collected water away, or lift the base section if removable. Wipe the base dry before replacing bottles or folding the rack for storage.
After use: Remove all bottles and components. Empty any water from the base tray. Wipe the rack with a clean, dry cloth, paying attention to the rubber grips and feet where moisture might collect. Ensure the stainless-steel rail is dry to prevent water spots. Allow the rack to air-dry completely if needed.
Folding for storage: With the rack empty and dry, release the folding mechanism according to your model's design (typically by pressing a release button or lifting a lever). Fold the sides down until the rack lies flat at approximately 3cm height. Store in a drawer, cupboard, or lean against a wall in a storage area. The compact folded size makes it easy to tuck away when not needed.
Regular cleaning: Wash the rack by hand in warm soapy water weekly or as needed. Use a soft cloth or sponge on all surfaces. For the stainless-steel rail, wipe along the grain to prevent scratching. Clean the rubber grips and feet thoroughly to remove any residue or buildup. Rinse well and dry completely before folding or storing.
Maintaining the stainless steel: The 430-grade stainless-steel rail resists rust and corrosion under normal use. Dry it thoroughly after each use and cleaning to prevent water spots. If spots develop, wipe with a microfibre cloth and a small amount of white vinegar, then buff dry. Avoid harsh abrasive cleaners that might scratch the surface.
About the recycled plastic: The ABS plastic body contains a minimum of 25% post-consumer recycled plastic, which may result in slight colour variations or small speckles visible in the surface. These characteristics are normal and don't affect the rack's durability, structural integrity, or performance. The plastic maintains its strength and cleaning properties despite the recycled content.
Avoid: Dishwashers—the rack must be washed by hand to protect the folding mechanism and prevent damage to the rubber components from heat. Don't use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads on any surfaces, particularly the stainless steel. Avoid forcing bottles into the grips—if a bottle doesn't fit easily, it may be too large or oddly shaped for this rack. Don't store the rack whilst damp, as this can promote bacterial growth or water spots on the stainless steel.
Environmental Considerations
Recycled Content: Plastic parts made with a minimum of 25% post-consumer recycled plastic (manufacturer certified)
Visual Characteristics: Product colour may vary and small speckles in the surface may occur due to the recycled plastic content. This is perfectly normal and demonstrates the genuine use of recycled materials whilst having no impact on durability or performance.

Frequently Asked Questions
What if I've used it and don't like it?
Return it anyway. Our no quibble guarantee covers used items - if it doesn't work for your bottles or doesn't meet your needs, we'll refund you. This applies even after you've used the rack for drying bottles. We've offered this guarantee since 1972 because we believe customers shouldn't take a risk when purchasing homeware.
How does the Half-Price Replacement guarantee work?
Valid for 2 years from purchase date. If you accidentally damage the rack (such as breaking the folding mechanism or cracking the base), we'll replace it at half price with proof of purchase and evidence of damage. Photos are acceptable. This guarantee provides peace of mind for everyday use.
How long does delivery take?
Standard delivery to mainland UK addresses can take up to 7 working days, but is usually 3-4, and is free for orders over £49. Next day delivery may be available for £9.95 on orders placed before 1pm Monday to Thursday, depending on your location and our stock levels. You can also collect from our shops in Cobham or Reigate, or our warehouse in Redhill.
Is this suitable for glass bottles?
Yes, the thermoplastic rubber grips accommodate both plastic and glass bottles safely. The soft rubber material cushions glass bottles whilst providing secure grip to prevent slipping or falling. The drip-catching base and stable design with non-slip feet ensure glass bottles dry safely without risk of toppling or breaking.
Can I use this for wine bottles or larger containers?
The rack is designed for baby bottles, reusable water bottles, sports bottles, and travel mugs—typically containers with neck openings that fit the rubber grips. Wine bottles have a different neck size and may not fit securely in the grips. Very large containers or unusually shaped bottles may also be incompatible. The rack works best with standard bottle designs.
How often should I clean the rack?
Wipe the rack dry after each use to prevent water spots and maintain hygiene. Wash the entire rack thoroughly with warm soapy water weekly or more frequently if using daily. Pay particular attention to the rubber grips and base tray where moisture and residue might accumulate. Regular cleaning prevents bacterial growth and keeps the rack functioning optimally.
Will the stainless steel rust?
The 430-grade stainless-steel rail resists rust and corrosion under normal use and proper care. Dry the rail thoroughly after each use and cleaning to prevent water spots and maintain its appearance. Avoid leaving the rack damp for extended periods. With proper care, the stainless steel should remain rust-free throughout the product's lifespan.
Does the folding mechanism wear out?
The folding mechanism is designed for repeated daily use. With normal handling—folding and unfolding smoothly without forcing—it should remain functional for years. Avoid rough handling or forcing the mechanism if it seems stuck. If resistance occurs, check for debris or obstructions before attempting to fold or unfold. Proper care extends the mechanism's longevity.
