The Graef GK502 is a gooseneck pour-over kettle designed for people who want genuine control over their coffee or tea brewing. The narrow swan-neck spout allows slow, precise water distribution over ground coffee or loose leaf tea, and the temperature can be set in 1-degree increments from 40 to 100 degrees C, which matters more than most general kettles suggest. A built-in timer starts when you begin pouring, keeping the brewing process consistent from cup to cup. Made from stainless steel throughout the container, with no plastic in contact with the water, the GK502 is a considered tool for anyone who takes hand-brewing seriously.
- Gooseneck spout: The narrow swan-neck design allows slow, controlled water distribution in circular movements over coffee grounds or tea leaves, improving extraction consistency.
- 1-degree temperature control: Set the brewing temperature anywhere between 40 and 100 degrees C in 1-degree increments using the rotary control, with the current temperature displayed during heating.
- Integrated brewing timer: Press and hold the dial for 3 seconds when you start pouring to activate the timer, allowing you to monitor and repeat your brewing time precisely.
- 30-minute keep-warm function: After reaching the target temperature, the kettle maintains it for approximately 30 minutes, which can be switched on or off via the back of the base station.
- No plastic water contact: The 900ml container is made entirely from high-quality stainless steel with an integrated limescale filter, meaning heated water contacts only metal throughout.
What Customers Ask About This Product
Is this suitable for brewing green or white tea as well as coffee?
Yes, and the temperature control is particularly relevant for delicate teas. Green tea typically benefits from water around 70 to 80 degrees C, and white tea often needs it lower still. Being able to set the exact temperature in 1-degree steps means you are not guessing or waiting for water to cool down from a full boil.
Can I switch the keep-warm function off if I do not need it?
Yes. The keep-warm function and the warning tones can both be toggled on or off using controls on the back of the base station. You can also switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit here.
How does the brewing timer work?
Once the water has reached your target temperature and you start pouring, press and hold the dial for 3 seconds to start the timer. It then counts on the LED display so you can track how long your brew has been running.
In our experience...
Temperature control changes what you can brew. A standard kettle boils water to 100 degrees C, which is too hot for most specialty coffee and many teas. Having a kettle that holds a precise lower temperature means you can work with the water rather than fighting against it.
The gooseneck spout is not just for aesthetics. The narrow curved spout genuinely controls flow rate in a way a standard kettle cannot. For pour-over coffee in particular, being able to distribute water slowly and evenly over the grounds makes a measurable difference to extraction and flavour.
A timer built into the kettle removes one variable. Keeping brew time consistent is one of the easiest ways to get repeatable results. Having the timer in the same device as the water means one less thing on the worktop and one less thing to remember to start.
The keep-warm function is more useful for tea than coffee. For coffee, you typically brew and drink promptly. For tea, especially when making multiple cups at different temperatures over a session, keeping water at the right temperature without re-boiling preserves the quality of each cup.
No plastic water contact is a meaningful difference in a kettle. Most kettles have at least some plastic components that heated water passes through or over. A fully stainless steel interior means there is no risk of plastic taint, which is particularly noticeable with delicate green or white teas.

Care & Use Instructions
Daily use: Rinse the kettle with fresh water before first use and after extended periods of storage.
Limescale filter: The integrated limescale filter should be removed and rinsed regularly. In hard water areas, clean more frequently to maintain performance.
Descaling: Descale the kettle periodically using a proprietary kettle descaler or a solution of citric acid and water, following the manufacturer's guidance. Do not use vinegar, as it may affect the stainless steel over time.
Exterior cleaning: Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth. The matt black finish may show fingerprints; a soft dry cloth will remove most marks without scratching.
What to avoid: Do not immerse the base station in water. Do not fill above the maximum capacity line. Do not operate the kettle without water in it.
