Robert Welch Professional Angle Oak Knife Block Set
Knife storage that works for a real kitchen workspace: the Robert Welch Professional Angle Oak Knife Block uses a vertically angled design to minimise the countertop footprint while keeping six knives upright, visible and immediately accessible. The block is constructed from solid oak and sits on silicone feet for stability, and is sized to fit against the back or side of a worktop, or underneath a wall-mounted cupboard.
This set includes the block and six knives from the Robert Welch Professional range - a forged German DIN 1.4116 stainless steel collection, ice-hardened to Rockwell 57, covering the most commonly used blade types for everyday cooking. Knives are stored blade-up in the angled slots, which protects the edges and keeps them in sight - no rummaging to identify the right knife for the task.

Will this knife block work with knives from other brands?
Robert Welch specify that the Angle Oak block is designed exclusively for Robert Welch kitchen knives. The slot dimensions are sized to accommodate the Professional range, and using knives from other brands is not recommended. If you already have Robert Welch Signature knives rather than Professional knives, we'd suggest contacting us before purchasing to discuss compatibility, as slot sizing may differ between ranges.
How much worktop space does it take up?
The block measures 220mm wide by 153mm deep - roughly the footprint of an A5 sheet of paper. The angled design means the overall height is 365mm, but that height works in your favour: the block is sized to fit underneath standard wall-mounted cupboards, keeping the knives accessible without projecting far out from the wall. Measure your available space (particularly the clearance under any cupboards) before ordering.
Can I buy just the knife block without the knives?

Are the knives in this set the same as buying them individually?

How do I safely move the block once it's set up?
Robert Welch advise removing all knives from the block before moving it. Do not tilt the block while knives are in place. The silicone feet keep it stable on a flat surface but it is not designed to be carried with the knives loaded.

Block care: Wipe the oak block with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Do not submerge in water or place in a dishwasher. Occasional application of a food-safe wood oil may help maintain the oak's appearance, though this is not specified by the manufacturer.
Knife care: Hand washing is recommended for all knives in the set to prolong blade life and handle finish. Dry knives before returning them to the block.
Moving the block: Always remove all knives before moving or repositioning the block. Do not tilt the block while knives are loaded.

You can also collect from our shops in Cobham or Reigate, or our warehouse in Redhill.
