In our experience...
A two pan, one lid set is more flexible than it first sounds. You get an open pan for everyday cooking and a proper pressure cooker in one purchase, rather than needing two separate items.
Pressure cooking genuinely changes cooking times, not just marginally. A beef stock that takes 4-6 hours conventionally cooks in around 45 minutes, and a pot roast chicken in around 30.
Side grips are a deliberate trade-off. They make the pan easier to store and better balanced to lift, though a long handle with an assist grip gives more leverage for pouring, which is why Kuhn Rikon offers both styles.
The two pressure settings suit different food. The lower setting suits fish, rice, lentils and most fruit, while the higher setting suits pulses, meat and root vegetables, and matches older recipes that call for 15 psi.
Avoiding the dishwasher is about protecting the mechanism, not the steel. The 18/10 stainless steel body would likely survive it, but the valve and locking mechanism are what benefit from handwashing instead.

Everyday cleaning: Use warm water and washing-up liquid for normal soiling. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scourers, and never remove stuck-on food with sharp objects, steel wool or scourers.
