What Customers Ask About This Product
Is it dishwasher safe?
No, handwashing is recommended. Dishwashers can dull the blade faster and, over time, affect the handle.
What's it best used for?
Cleanly and precisely slicing meat, poultry and fish, particularly for carving.
How does it compare to Signature knives?
Professional knives are slightly larger and heavier in the hand than Robert Welch's Signature range, while sharing the same classic handle shape for comfort and control.
In our experience...
World Edge Geometry combined with ice hardened steel is what sets Professional knives apart. Together they give a harder, more resilient blade with genuinely longer lasting sharpness than a standard edge.
A carving knife's length matters for a clean slice. At 22cm, it has enough reach to carve through a joint or bird in smooth, single strokes rather than a series of shorter sawing cuts.
Professional knives are built with a different hand feel to Signature. Being slightly larger and heavier suits cooks who prefer more heft and momentum in a blade, rather than a lighter touch.

Care & Use Instructions
Washing: Handwash recommended. Rinse to remove food traces as soon as possible after use, then wash in warm soapy water with a microfibre cloth or non-abrasive brush. Avoid soaking, and always dry thoroughly immediately after washing with a microfibre cloth. Avoid scouring pads or abrasive cleaners, as these will scratch the surface.
Chopping boards: Use wood or soft plastic boards to keep the blade sharp for longest. Avoid glass, stone, metal or very hard bamboo, which can dull or damage the edge.
Handle care: Periodically apply a food-safe mineral oil to the handle to maintain its colour, wiping off any excess.
