The Black and Blum Stack and Nest Mixed Set of 4 is the most practical starting point for anyone new to the range, or a strong gift option for someone who wants a complete glass food storage solution in one purchase. It includes one container in each of the four available sizes: Extra Small (380ml), Small (600ml), Medium (900ml), and Large (1.2 litres), covering everything from a single snack portion to a full batch-cook quantity. All four use the same borosilicate glass construction, vacuum-sealed airtight lid, and removable silicone seal. They are safe across the freezer at minus 20 degrees C to the oven and air fryer at 250 degrees C, and dishwasher and microwave safe throughout. Because different sizes nest inside one another, all four containers store compactly when not in use.
- One of each size in a single set: Includes one Extra Small (380ml), one Small (600ml), one Medium (900ml), and one Large (1.2 litre) container, giving you the full size range without having to buy across multiple sets.
- Borosilicate glass construction: High-quality borosilicate glass handles temperatures from minus 20 degrees C to 250 degrees C, making each container safe across the freezer, fridge, oven, air fryer, and microwave without needing to transfer food between vessels.
- Airtight, leak-proof lid: The vacuum-sealed lid lock on each container creates an airtight seal that keeps food fresh for longer and prevents leaks, making them reliable for transporting food as well as storing it.
- Fully removable silicone seal: The silicone seal lifts out of the lid completely for thorough cleaning, preventing the residue build-up and odour transfer that affects most food storage lids over time.
- Nest storage for all four sizes: The four different sizes nest inside one another when not in use, so the full set takes up the space of a single large container in the cupboard.
What Customers Ask About This Product
What sizes are included in this set?
The set includes one Extra Small (380ml, 15.5cm x 11cm x 6.1cm), one Small (600ml, 17.1cm x 12.6cm x 7.1cm), one Medium (900ml, 18.7cm x 14.2cm x 7.8cm), and one Large (1.2 litres, 20.5cm x 15.8cm x 8.5cm). Each comes with its own airtight lid.
How does this compare to buying individual containers or a same-size set?
This mixed set gives you the full size range in one purchase, which suits most everyday storage and meal prep needs out of the box. If you already know you will use one particular size most often, the sets of three or five in that size offer a lower per-container cost. Buying individually gives you the most flexibility to build a custom combination across sizes.
Can I put these directly from the freezer into the oven?
Borosilicate glass is significantly more resistant to thermal shock than standard glass, but moving directly from a very cold freezer to a hot oven is still not recommended. Allow the containers to come to room temperature first before placing in a hot oven to avoid any risk of cracking.
Does the lid go in the dishwasher?
Yes. Remove the silicone seal before washing to ensure both the lid and the seal are cleaned properly. Both can go in the dishwasher or be washed by hand.
In our experience...
A mixed set is the most practical way to start with a new food storage system. Buying same-size sets makes sense once you know which size you use most. Before that, a mixed set lets you discover how you actually use the containers in practice: which size gets reached for most often at lunch, which one handles batch cooking best, which one earns its place in the fridge door. The answers are not always what people expect.
The nesting storage benefit is most pronounced with a mixed set. Same-size sets stack vertically, which is compact but still takes up a column of cupboard height. A mixed set nests into a single footprint roughly the size of the Large container, which is a more efficient use of cupboard space if you have limited storage.
The Large container at 1.2 litres is the one most people underestimate the usefulness of. It handles a full batch of soup or stew, a pasta bake for two, or storing a whole pack of prepared vegetables. It is also oven safe, so you can cook directly in it and refrigerate the leftovers in the same vessel, which removes a washing up step.
The mixed set is the strongest gift option across the Black and Blum glass range. It requires no prior knowledge of which size the recipient uses most, it covers all four sizes so nothing is missing, and the nesting storage means it is not a bulky gift. For a housewarming, a kitchen refresh, or a birthday for someone who cooks, it is a considered and immediately useful choice.
These containers are compatible with the stainless steel Meal Prep Boxes from the same range. If the recipient already uses Black and Blum's stainless steel Meal Prep Boxes, the glass containers work alongside them. The two ranges are designed to be compatible, so you can move between glass and steel depending on the task.

Care & Use Instructions
After each use: Wash containers and lids in the dishwasher or by hand with warm soapy water. Remove the silicone seal from each lid before washing to ensure both parts are cleaned properly.
Silicone seals: Remove each seal after use and wash separately. Check they are seated correctly when refitting, as a poorly fitted seal will affect the airtight performance.
Oven and air fryer use: The glass body can go in the oven or air fryer up to 250 degrees C. Do not put the lid or silicone seal in the oven or air fryer. If going from cold storage to a hot oven, allow the container to reach room temperature first.
What to avoid: Do not drop the containers on hard floors. Do not use abrasive scourers on the glass. Do not place directly from a very cold freezer into a hot oven without allowing time to acclimatise first.
