Quick Overview: CASO Design VinoCase single-bottle tabletop wine cooler in matt black. 5-18 degrees C in 1-degree steps, sensor-touch controls, 28dB, suits bottles up to 9cm diameter.

The CASO VinoCase is a tabletop wine cooler designed for a single bottle, positioned as a serving accessory rather than a storage appliance. Its purpose is to maintain the temperature of a bottle that has already been chilled, rather than to chill a warm bottle from room temperature. The temperature is adjustable from 5 to 18 degrees C in 1-degree increments via sensor touch controls and an LED display, covering the serving range for white wine, sparkling wine, champagne, and lightly chilled reds. At 28 decibels it operates quietly enough for a dining table or sideboard, and the matt black housing suits most kitchen and dining room aesthetics. It accommodates bottles up to 9cm in diameter, which covers standard wine and champagne bottle sizes. Compact at 13.5cm wide, it takes up minimal table space.

  • Temperature control from 5 to 18 degrees C in 1-degree increments: Electronically adjustable temperature via sensor touch controls covers the full serving range for white wine, sparkling wine, champagne, and lightly chilled reds, with 1-degree precision.
  • Quiet 28dB operation: At 28 decibels the cooler operates quietly enough for a dining table or living room without being disruptive during a meal or conversation.
  • Single bottle design, up to 9cm diameter: Designed for one bottle at a time, accommodating standard wine and champagne bottle diameters up to 9cm, keeping the footprint compact at 13.5cm wide.
  • Sensor touch controls with LED display: Temperature is set and read via a sensor touch panel and LED display, keeping the exterior clean and straightforward to operate without mechanical controls.
  • Matt black housing: The sleek matt black exterior complements contemporary kitchen and dining room environments and resists the fingerprint marking common on gloss finishes.

What Customers Ask About This Product

Will this chill a warm bottle of wine?

The VinoCase is designed to maintain the temperature of a bottle that is already chilled, not to chill a warm bottle from room temperature. If you place a room-temperature bottle in the cooler it will cool it gradually, but the process will be slow. For best results, chill the bottle in the fridge first and then transfer it to the VinoCase to hold it at your chosen serving temperature.

What bottle sizes does it fit?

The cooler accommodates bottles with a diameter up to 9cm, which covers standard 75cl wine bottles and most champagne and sparkling wine bottles. Some magnum-format bottles or bottles with particularly wide bases may not fit. Check the diameter of any unusual bottle formats before purchasing.

What is the ideal temperature for different wines?

As a general guide: sparkling wine and champagne are typically served at 6 to 10 degrees C; white wines at 8 to 12 degrees C depending on the style; light reds at 12 to 16 degrees C; and fuller-bodied reds at 16 to 18 degrees C. The VinoCase's range of 5 to 18 degrees C covers all of these. Personal preference plays a role, and these are starting points rather than fixed rules.

How noisy is it in use?

The cooler operates at 28 decibels, which is quieter than a normal conversation (typically around 60 decibels) and comparable to a very quiet room. At that level it is unlikely to be audible at a dining table during a meal.

In our experience...

A wine cooler and a wine chiller are different things. A wine chiller is designed to bring a warm bottle down to serving temperature quickly. A wine cooler is designed to maintain a temperature that has already been achieved. The VinoCase is the latter: it keeps a chilled bottle at the right serving temperature rather than being a rapid chilling device. This distinction matters when deciding whether it fits your use case.

Serving temperature matters more for white wine than most people realise. White wine served too cold loses aroma and flavour; served too warm it can taste flat or overly alcoholic. The difference between 8 and 14 degrees C in the glass is noticeable. Being able to set a precise serving temperature and hold it throughout a meal changes the experience more than most wine accessories do.

28 decibels is genuinely quiet for a cooling appliance. Most refrigerators operate between 35 and 45 decibels. At 28 decibels, the VinoCase is quieter than the background noise in most rooms and is unlikely to be perceptible during a meal or conversation. The noise level is worth noting because tabletop appliances are used in social settings where an audible hum would be unwelcome.

A single-bottle format suits the way most people actually open wine. Multi-bottle wine coolers are storage appliances. A single-bottle tabletop cooler is a serving accessory for the bottle you are drinking now. For the majority of occasions where one bottle is opened at a time, the single-bottle format is the more practical and considerably more compact option.

The 9cm diameter limit covers the vast majority of standard bottles. Standard 75cl wine bottles typically measure 7.5 to 8cm at the widest point. Champagne bottles tend to be slightly wider at around 8.5cm. The 9cm limit gives a small margin, but oversized formats and some prestige cuvees may exceed it. Worth measuring any bottle you plan to use regularly before purchasing.

Care & Use Instructions

Interior: Wipe the interior with a damp cloth periodically. Ensure no liquid from bottle condensation pools at the base over time. Allow the interior to dry fully if wiping with a wet cloth.

Exterior: Wipe the matt black housing with a soft damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scourers that could mark the matt finish. A soft dry cloth removes any smears or marks.

Ventilation: Ensure the cooler has adequate ventilation around it when in use. Do not place it against a wall or in an enclosed space that would restrict airflow, as this affects cooling performance.

What to avoid: Do not place in direct sunlight or near a heat source. Do not use to chill bottles that contain carbonated drinks under high pressure without checking the bottle diameter first. Do not operate without a bottle in the cooler for extended periods.

Rest of the World

If your country is not listed — including the USA, Australia, and other destinations — this is most likely because couriers charge by volumetric weight: a combination of package size and weight that makes standard online rates impractical to calculate automatically.

Please call us on 01737 222996 with the details of your order. We will advise on shipping costs within 24 hours and ask whether you would like to proceed.

Before you order internationally, please note:

All overseas shipments are at your own risk. We recommend taking out appropriate transit insurance to cover any damage in transit.

Customs forms for all international packages declare the full value and a description of the contents. Any customs or import duties levied on arrival in your country are your responsibility. Your local customs office can provide further information.
