In our experience...
What is a small saucepan for? A small pan gives you better control over delicate jobs such as melting chocolate or butter, heating milk, or making a quick sauce, without scorching a thin layer in a larger pan.
Choosing a size The 12cm pan suits melting and single servings. The 14cm pan has room for a sauce for two or a small portion of soup.
