This paring knife is a good little utility knife to have around. Similar to the GSF-15 but with a hollow handle, you can use this knife for cutting and slicing. A versatile small blade for detailed kitchen tasks, it could double as a fish filleting knife or a small utility knife.
- Spearpoint blade: A versatile small blade suited to detailed kitchen tasks.
- Hollow handle: Distinguishes it from the similar GSF-15.
- Genuinely multi-purpose: Could double as a fish filleting knife or small utility knife.
- Acute 15 degree cutting edge: Dramatically sharper than a standard edge, and stays sharper for longer.
What Customers Ask About This Product
Is it dishwasher safe?
No, handwash only and dry immediately, since dishwashers can blunt and chip the blade and reduce its lifespan.
What's it best used for?
Cutting and slicing for detailed kitchen tasks, and it could double as a filleting or utility knife.
How is it different from the GSF-15?
It's similar, but the GS-7 has a hollow handle rather than the GSF-15's forged construction.
In our experience...
A spearpoint tip is genuinely useful beyond just paring. Its pointed shape is precise enough for detail work, which is part of why it can double as a small filleting knife too.
A sand-filled hollow handle is a deliberate Global design choice. It's specifically what balances the weight of the blade, giving the knife a comfortable, controlled feel rather than being blade-heavy.
A paring knife's versatility comes from its size, not a lack of capability. Being small doesn't mean limited, it just means better suited to detailed, controlled tasks than bigger blades.

Washing: Handwash only and dry immediately. Sharp blades should never go in the dishwasher, as it can blunt and chip the edge and dramatically reduce the knife's lifespan.
