Quick Overview: Swiss-engineered flagship automatic coffee machine preparing 40+ hot and cold speciality coffees including genuine cold brew, featuring Product Recognising Grinder, 8th-generation brewing unit, and 4.3-inch touchscreen with J.O.E. app connectivity.

Jura Z10 Automatic Coffee Machine

The Jura Z10 represents a genuine innovation in automatic coffee machines: the ability to prepare authentic cold brew specialities alongside the full spectrum of hot coffee drinks. This Swiss-engineered machine introduces the pioneering Cold Extraction Process, where cold water is slowly pulsed through freshly ground coffee under high pressure, creating refreshing cold brew with balanced, fruity aromas and minimal bitterness - a fundamentally different result from simply chilling hot-brewed coffee.

Central to the Z10's versatility is the Product Recognising Grinder (P.R.G.), which automatically adjusts grind fineness for each selected drink - from very fine for intense espresso to very coarse for cold brew specialities. This electronic adjustment happens in fractions of a second, far faster and more precisely than manual adjustment could achieve. The 8th-generation brewing unit features 3D brewing technology that flows water through ground coffee at multiple levels, maximising aroma extraction for both hot and cold preparations.

The 4.3-inch colour touchscreen with Blue Crystal Rotary Switch provides intuitive navigation through over 40 hot and cold speciality drinks. J.O.E. app connectivity enables smartphone control, personalisation, and maintenance tracking. The 2.4-litre water tank and 280g bean hopper provide capacity for 30-60 cups daily, suiting serious home users or small office environments. The sculptural convex-concave aluminium front panel demonstrates Swiss manufacturing precision and attention to detail.

Key features:

  • Cold Extraction Process: Genuine cold brew preparation using cold water pulsed at high pressure through coarsely ground coffee
  • Product Recognising Grinder (P.R.G.): Automatically adjusts grind fineness for each selected drink, from very fine to very coarse
  • 8th-generation brewing unit: 3D brewing technology flows water evenly through ground coffee at multiple levels
  • 40+ hot and cold drinks: Complete range from espresso to flat white, with cold brew versions of many specialities
  • 4.3-inch colour touchscreen: Double-speed display with Blue Crystal Rotary Switch for intuitive control
  • J.O.E. app connectivity: WiFi-enabled smartphone control, drink personalisation, and maintenance notifications
  • 2.4-litre water tank: Large capacity with elegant wave design
  • 280g bean hopper: Sufficient capacity for 30-60 cups daily
  • HP3 milk system: Professional milk frothing for both hot and cold milk-based drinks
  • Pulse Extraction Process (P.E.P.): Optimises extraction time for short specialities
  • Convex-concave front panel: Precision-engineered aluminium panel demonstrates Swiss craftsmanship
  • 20-serving grounds container: Convenient capacity between empties
  • Available in two finishes: Aluminium White or Diamond Black

This machine suits serious coffee enthusiasts who want both traditional hot specialities and innovative cold brew options, appreciate Swiss engineering precision, and value smartphone connectivity for personalisation and convenience. The Z10 is designed for 30-60 cups daily, making it appropriate for demanding home use or small office environments.

What Customers Ask About Jura Z10

What makes the cold brew different from iced coffee?

The Cold Extraction Process uses cold water pulsed at high pressure through coarsely ground coffee, creating genuine cold brew with naturally sweet, fruity flavours and minimal bitterness. Traditional iced coffee is hot-brewed coffee that's been cooled, which produces different flavour characteristics - typically more acidic and bitter. The Z10's cold brew process takes longer but creates the smooth, refreshing flavour profile that cold brew is known for, all at the touch of a button.

How does the Product Recognising Grinder work?

When you select a drink, the P.R.G. electronically adjusts the grind fineness in fractions of a second to match the optimal consistency for that specific beverage. Espresso requires very fine grounds for proper extraction under high pressure, whilst cold brew needs coarse grounds for the slower cold extraction process. This automatic adjustment happens every time you prepare a drink, ensuring optimal results without manual intervention. You can also use the Aroma Selection feature to manually adjust if you prefer stronger or milder coffee.

Can I prepare two cups simultaneously?

Yes, the Z10 can prepare two cups of many drinks simultaneously, including espresso, coffee, Americano, and lungo. The drinks list shows which beverages are available in "2x" versions. This feature is particularly useful when serving guests or preparing drinks for couples.

What's the difference between this and the Jura Z8?

The Z10 introduces the Cold Extraction Process for genuine cold brew specialities, which the Z8 doesn't offer. The Z10 also features the Product Recognising Grinder that automatically adjusts for each drink type, whilst the Z8 has Jura's Automatic Grinding Adjustment. The Z10 offers over 40 hot and cold specialities compared to the Z8's focus on hot drinks. If cold brew capability matters to you, the Z10 provides functionality that's unavailable in earlier models.

How much maintenance does this require?

The Z10 features automatic programmes for rinsing, cleaning, and descaling. The J.O.E. app provides maintenance reminders and guides you through processes. You'll need to empty the grounds container (approximately every 20 cups), refill water and beans as needed, and run automatic cleaning programmes as prompted. The milk system requires daily rinsing after use. Jura designs their machines for straightforward maintenance, and the machine prompts you when attention is needed.

What We've Learned About Premium Coffee Machines Since 1972

In our 52 years helping customers select coffee equipment, we've witnessed the evolution from simple espresso machines to sophisticated automatic systems. The Z10 represents something genuinely new: authentic cold brew preparation in an automatic format. Previously, cold brew required steeping grounds in cold water for 12-24 hours. The Z10's Cold Extraction Process achieves similar results in minutes through precise pressure control and grind adjustment.

We've learned that grind consistency matters enormously to coffee quality. The Product Recognising Grinder addresses a challenge we've seen customers struggle with: manually adjusting grinders for different drinks. The Z10's automatic adjustment for each beverage type eliminates this complexity whilst delivering optimal results.

The distinction between machines designed for 15-20 cups daily versus 30-60 cups daily becomes important over time. The Z10's robust construction, larger water tank, and substantial bean hopper suit households where multiple people drink several cups daily, or small offices. We've seen lighter-duty machines struggle under this usage pattern, whilst machines like the Z10 are engineered for it.

Care & Use Instructions

Before first use: Remove all packaging and protective films. Rinse the water tank and fill with fresh cold water. Fill the bean hopper with fresh coffee beans. The machine will guide you through initial setup including filter installation (if using) and system priming. Follow the on-screen instructions carefully during first-time setup.

Daily use: Use fresh, cold water in the tank - replace daily even if not fully used. Use fresh, quality coffee beans and avoid oily or caramelised beans which can clog the grinder. The P.R.G. automatically adjusts grind fineness for each selected drink, so simply choose your desired beverage from the touchscreen or J.O.E. app.

Preparing cold brew specialities: Select a cold brew option from the menu. The machine automatically adjusts to coarse grind and initiates the Cold Extraction Process, pulsing cold water through the grounds at high pressure. This takes longer than hot drinks but creates authentic cold brew with the characteristic smooth, fruity flavour profile.

Milk system care: Rinse the milk system after each use by running the automatic rinsing programme. Daily rinsing prevents milk residue buildup and maintains hygiene. Remove milk system components for thorough cleaning regularly - these are typically dishwasher-safe but check your manual for specific guidance.

Emptying grounds container: The machine alerts you when the grounds container (approximately 20 servings capacity) needs emptying. Empty and rinse the container, then return it promptly. The machine tracks grounds container status and won't operate if not properly replaced.

Automatic maintenance programmes: The Z10 prompts you when cleaning or descaling is required. Follow the on-screen instructions and use Jura-approved cleaning tablets and descaling solution. The J.O.E. app provides maintenance reminders and step-by-step guidance through these processes.

J.O.E. app features: Download the J.O.E. app to access smartphone control, create personalised drink profiles, track maintenance schedules, and receive notifications. The app enables you to start drink preparation, adjust strength and temperature settings, and monitor machine status remotely within WiFi range.

Water filter: Jura recommends using the Claris water filter to protect internal components from limescale. Replace the filter as prompted by the machine or app. Using filtered water extends machine life and reduces descaling frequency.

What to avoid: Don't use oily, caramelised, or flavoured beans which can damage the grinder. Don't use milk alternatives with added sugars in the milk system as these can cause buildup. Don't ignore maintenance prompts - regular cleaning prevents problems. Don't use non-Jura cleaning products which may damage components or void warranty.

When not in use: If you won't use the machine for several days, empty the water tank, grounds container, and drip tray. Run a final rinse cycle before extended storage. Store in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight.

Frequently Asked Questions

What if I've used it and don't like it?

Return it anyway. Our no quibble guarantee covers used items - if it doesn't do what you wanted, we'll refund you. This applies even after you've used the Z10 to prepare coffee. We've offered this guarantee since 1972 because we believe customers shouldn't take a risk when purchasing premium equipment.

How does the Half-Price Replacement guarantee work?

Valid for 2 years from purchase date. If you accidentally damage the Z10, we'll replace it at half the current retail price with proof of purchase and evidence of damage. Photos are acceptable. This covers accidental damage beyond what manufacturer warranty provides.

How long does delivery take?

Jura coffee machines are sent using Standard Delivery only, which can take up to 7 working days but is usually 3-4 days. Saturday and next-day delivery options are not available for Jura machines. Standard delivery is free for orders over £49. You can also collect from our shops in Cobham or Reigate, or our warehouse in Redhill.

What's included with the Z10?

The Z10 includes the machine, water tank, bean hopper, grounds container, drip tray, and initial setup accessories. You'll need to purchase coffee beans, and we recommend Jura cleaning tablets and descaling solution for maintenance. The Claris water filter is recommended but typically sold separately. Contact us to confirm what's included with current stock.

Do I need to buy any additional accessories?

You'll need cleaning tablets and descaling solution for regular maintenance (Jura-branded products recommended). The Claris water filter is highly recommended to protect the machine from limescale. If you want the Cool Control milk cooler for optimal milk temperature, that's a separate purchase. The milk frother itself is included with the machine.

Can I use pre-ground coffee instead of beans?

The Z10 is designed for whole beans and features the Product Recognising Grinder specifically to adjust grind for each drink type. Using pre-ground coffee would bypass this key feature and isn't recommended. The machine's innovation lies partly in its grind adjustment capability, which requires whole beans.

How loud is the grinder?

All coffee grinders produce noise during operation, and the Z10's P.R.G. is no exception. However, Jura designs their grinders for acceptable noise levels in home environments. The grinding phase lasts only seconds per drink. If noise is a concern in early mornings, the cold brew options (which use coarser grinds) are generally quieter than espresso preparation.

Which colour should I choose?

Both Aluminium White and Diamond Black offer identical functionality and specifications. Choose based on your kitchen aesthetic and which finish complements your existing appliances. Contact us to confirm which colours we currently have in stock.

Is the Z10 suitable for a small office?

Yes, the Z10's 30-60 cup daily capacity, 2.4-litre water tank, and 280g bean hopper make it appropriate for small office environments with 5-10 coffee drinkers. The wide range of drink options accommodates varying preferences. However, ensure someone is designated for daily milk system rinsing and regular maintenance to keep it operating optimally in an office setting.

How does Jura warranty work?

Jura machines come with manufacturer warranty (typically 2 years for home use - confirm details at time of purchase). This covers manufacturing defects and component failures under normal use. Our Half-Price Replacement guarantee provides additional protection beyond manufacturer warranty. Register your machine with Jura after purchase to activate warranty coverage.
