What Customers Ask About This Product
Is it dishwasher safe?
We recommend handwashing rather than the dishwasher, to protect the enamel finish and the detailed petal relief over time.
Is the petal detail hard to clean?
No, it's glazed like the rest of the casserole, so it cleans in the same way as the smooth surfaces.
Is it suitable for induction hobs?
Yes. Just make sure you use it on the most appropriately sized ring, as using the wrong size on an induction hob can mean it doesn't get recognised.
Is it a genuine one-off design, or part of Le Creuset's regular range?
It's part of the Petal Collection, so the relief detailing is a distinctive seasonal design rather than a permanent part of the standard range.
In our experience...
The petal relief is a genuine craft detail, not a printed pattern. It's a raised, sculpted design on the lid itself, which is part of what makes this piece distinctive.
Loop handles are chosen specifically for grip. They're designed to feel secure even when the casserole is full and you're wearing oven gloves.
The patina is meant to build up, not be scrubbed away. Cleaning with just water rather than soap for everyday use helps the enamel interior develop its natural non-stick surface over time.
A detailed lid is worth handwashing. The raised petal design benefits from gentler cleaning than repeated dishwasher cycles would give it.
Cold water is still the enemy of hot cast iron. Plunging a hot casserole into cold water risks cracking the enamel, so always let it cool for 10 to 15 minutes first.

Care & Use Instructions
Before first use: Wash in warm, soapy water, then rinse and dry thoroughly.
While cooking: Always use oven gloves when handling anything hot. Use Le Creuset silicone, wood or heat-resistant plastic tools where possible. Metal utensils can be used with care but shouldn't be used harshly or scraped over the surface. Cook on a medium or low heat and let it heat up gradually, and use the most appropriately sized hob ring, especially on induction.
Glass hobs: Never slide the casserole across a glass-topped hob, as this can damage both the base and the glass. Always lift it on, off, or across the surface.
Cleaning stuck-on food: Let it cool before cleaning. Wipe off any leftovers, and soak stuck-on food in warm soapy water for 15 to 20 minutes before washing. Avoid abrasive cleaners, metal scourers or stiff brushes. Dry well and store in a dry place.
Washing: We recommend handwashing rather than the dishwasher, for longevity and to protect the enamel finish and petal detailing.
