Inspired by the winter star, the Le Creuset L'Etoile Round Casserole brings a seasonal flourish to the table without compromising on the everyday performance that cast iron is known for. The star relief design sits proudly at the centre of any festive spread, while the 4.2-litre capacity comfortably serves four to six. Individually cast in sand moulds and hand-finished at Le Creuset's original French foundry since 1925, this casserole is as capable of a slow-cooked stew in January as it is a Christmas centrepiece in December. Backed by a limited lifetime guarantee.
- Star relief design: Inspired by the winter star, the embossed relief on the lid and body gives this casserole its distinctive seasonal character, making it as suited to the table as it is to the hob.
- Enamelled cast iron construction: Cast iron retains and distributes heat evenly, ensuring consistent cooking temperatures throughout long braises, stews and roasts, and keeping food warmer at the table for longer.
- Large easy-grip handles: Generously sized handles make it straightforward to move the casserole safely from hob to oven to table, even when wearing oven gloves.
- Enhanced tight-fitting lid: The lid seals in moisture and flavour during slow cooking, producing tender, well-developed results with minimal liquid loss.
- Compatible with all hob types: Suitable for gas, electric, ceramic, induction and under the grill. Oven safe up to 260 degrees C. Not suitable for microwave use.
- Heat-resistant gold stainless steel knob: The knob is designed to withstand oven temperatures and adds a considered finishing detail to the seasonal design.
- No seasoning required: The durable enamel coating resists staining and dulling and requires no seasoning, making it straightforward to maintain from first use.

Care & Use Instructions
Season before first use: Wash in hot soapy water, rinse and dry thoroughly before first use. A light coat of cooking oil wiped inside is not required for the enamel, but the rim where the lid sits may benefit from a thin layer.
Use low to medium heat: Cast iron retains heat very efficiently. Cooking on a low to medium heat gives the best results and protects the enamel from unnecessary stress.
Avoid thermal shock: Do not plunge a hot casserole into cold water or place it directly from the freezer onto a hot hob. Allow it to cool naturally before washing.
Hand washing recommended: Although dishwasher safe, regular dishwasher use can dull the enamel over time. Washing by hand with warm soapy water is recommended to keep the finish in the best condition.
Use silicone, wood or nylon utensils: Avoid metal utensils which can chip or scratch the enamel interior. Silicone, wooden or nylon tools will protect the surface and extend the life of the piece.
Store carefully: Place a folded cloth or Le Creuset protector between stacked pieces to prevent chipping. Store in a dry place with the lid slightly ajar if possible.
