Quick Overview: Le Creuset La Jardin Oval Serving Platter: 36cm stoneware with tulip, daffodil and bluebell decoration, oven, microwave, grill and dishwasher safe.
The Le Creuset La Jardin Oval Serving Platter is a 36cm stoneware platter decorated with floral designs featuring tulips, daffodils and bluebells, part of the garden-inspired La Jardin collection. At 35.9cm long and 27.9cm wide, it has enough surface area to serve a generous spread of appetisers, a whole roasted joint, a side of fish or a shared dessert at the table. Made from specialist stoneware in Thailand, the glazed surface is scratch-resistant and thermoresistant from -23°C to 260°C, and the platter is cleared for oven, microwave, grill and dishwasher use. At 2cm deep it is designed for serving rather than cooking with depth, and the oval shape makes it a natural choice for elongated dishes like whole fish, sliced meat or a row of roasted vegetables. As part of a seasonal collection, it pairs well with other La Jardin pieces and makes a considered gift for a Le Creuset collector.
Tulip, Daffodil and Bluebell Pattern: The platter is decorated with intricate floral designs featuring tulips, daffodils and bluebells, consistent with the garden-inspired aesthetic of the La Jardin collection.
36cm Oval Format: At 35.9cm long, 27.9cm wide and 2cm deep, the oval format provides generous surface area for sharing dishes and is well suited to elongated presentations like whole fish, sliced meat or roasted vegetables.
Thermoresistant Stoneware: Made from specialist stoneware, the platter handles temperatures from -23°C to 260°C, so it transitions comfortably from fridge or freezer to oven.
Scratch-Resistant Glaze: The glazed stoneware surface resists scratching in everyday use and is easy to wipe clean without marking.
Oven, Microwave, Grill and Dishwasher Safe: Cleared for use in the oven, under the grill, in the microwave and in the dishwasher, this platter is as practical a piece of serveware as it is decorative.
What Customers Ask About This Product
Will a 36cm platter fit in a standard oven?
Most standard ovens have an interior width of around 40-45cm, so the 35.9cm length of this platter should fit comfortably on a standard shelf. If you have a compact or single oven, it is worth measuring the interior before buying, as some smaller models have a usable width closer to 38cm. The platter's 27.9cm depth gives you a little more flexibility on which way to orient it.
Can this platter be used on the hob?
No, like all Le Creuset stoneware, this platter is not suitable for direct hob use. It is designed for oven, grill and microwave use only and should not be placed on a gas, electric or induction hob. If you need a piece that works on the hob, Le Creuset's cast iron range would be worth exploring.
Will this fit in a standard dishwasher?
At 35.9cm long, this platter will fit in most standard dishwashers on the lower rack, though it is worth checking the interior dimensions of your machine if you have a compact model. If it does fit, Le Creuset recommends using a standard cycle rather than a heavy programme, which will help keep the glaze and decoration in good condition over time.
Does this platter pair with other pieces in the La Jardin collection?
Yes, the La Jardin collection includes other pieces with the same garden-inspired floral decoration, including the La Jardin Petite Casserole, Cappuccino Mug, 350ml Mug and Sphere Plate. If you are building a matched table setting or buying a gift, it is worth checking current availability across the range, as seasonal collections like this one are not always carried forward from year to year.
In our experience...
A 36cm platter is large enough that it is worth measuring before buying. It sounds obvious, but a platter this size can feel unexpectedly large in a smaller kitchen or on a smaller dining table. At nearly 36cm long, it takes up a meaningful amount of table space. It is worth considering how you plan to use it and whether there is a natural spot for it on your table before committing.
Pre-warming a stoneware platter makes a real difference to hot food. A cold stoneware platter will absorb heat quickly from whatever you put on it, which causes food to cool faster at the table than you might expect. Placing the platter in a low oven for a few minutes before serving addresses this directly. For a large serving piece like this, it is one of the more useful habits to get into.
Oval platters earn their keep with certain dishes that rectangular trays do not suit. A whole side of salmon, a rack of ribs, a row of grilled asparagus or a carved joint all sit more naturally on an oval than on a square or rectangular platter. The shape follows the food rather than framing it, which tends to look more considered on the table without any extra effort.
Le Creuset seasonal collections are worth buying when you see them. Garden-inspired and themed ranges like La Jardin are not always carried forward from season to season. If you are building a matched set or looking for a specific piece as a gift, it is generally better to buy when the range is available rather than assume it will be restocked.
Stoneware is not hob-safe, which surprises many Le Creuset customers. Because Le Creuset cast iron works on every heat source including induction, people often assume the stoneware range does too. It does not. Stoneware is oven, grill and microwave only, and should never go directly on a hob. It is a common point of confusion and worth being clear on, especially if buying as a gift.

Care & Use Instructions
Before first use: Remove all labels and packaging. Wash in warm, soapy water, then rinse and dry thoroughly before use.
Using in the oven and under the grill: Always use oven gloves when handling a hot platter. When using under the grill, leave at least 6.5cm between the heat source and the top of the platter. If reheating food currently at room temperature, do not preheat the oven above 205°C. If adding liquid to a dish already in the oven, remove the platter first and allow it to cool for a few minutes before adding the liquid.
Reheating from cold: Do not place a frozen platter or dish into a preheated oven. Put it in a cold oven and allow the temperature to rise gradually with the platter inside. Always check food is piping hot throughout before serving.
Cleaning: Allow the platter to cool completely before washing. Wipe away any leftover food from the surface and sides. If food is stuck, fill the platter with warm, soapy water and leave it to soak for 15 to 20 minutes before washing as usual. Wash and dry by hand, or place in the dishwasher for a full cycle.

Rest of the World
If your country is not listed — including the USA, Australia, and other destinations — this is most likely because couriers charge by volumetric weight: a combination of package size and weight that makes standard online rates impractical to calculate automatically.
Please call us on 01737 222996 with the details of your order. We will advise on shipping costs within 24 hours and ask whether you would like to proceed.
Before you order internationally, please note:
All overseas shipments are at your own risk. We recommend taking out appropriate transit insurance to cover any damage in transit.
Customs forms for all international packages declare the full value and a description of the contents. Any customs or import duties levied on arrival in your country are your responsibility. Your local customs office can provide further information.
