Quick Overview: The Robert Welch Signature Essentials Knife Set pairs a 10cm paring knife and 14cm cook's knife with an award-winning ceramic sharpener.

This limited edition, three piece kitchen knife set from Robert Welch's Signature range includes a 10cm paring knife, a 14cm cook's knife, and a hand-held knife sharpener, a great starter set for the keen home cook. Developed with professional chefs, the multi award winning Signature collection is designed for purpose and practicality in everyday food preparation, and comes gift boxed with a total saving of £16 compared to buying the pieces individually.

  • 10cm paring knife: A plain edged, short blade ideal for peeling, trimming and slicing fruit and vegetables.
  • 14cm cook's knife: A curved, all-purpose blade for chopping and rocking cutting actions, from meat and hard vegetables to herbs and crushing garlic.
  • Award-winning knife sharpener: An advanced ceramic wheel with a solid handle and weighted, non-slip base.
  • Japanese-style 15 degree blade edges: Paired with ergonomically shaped handles for comfort, balance and reduced fatigue.
  • Gift boxed: Presented ready to give, with a genuine saving over buying each piece separately.

What Customers Ask About This Product

Is it dishwasher safe?

No, handwash these knives to protect the blade edge and finish.

What chopping board should I use?

Wood or soft plastic boards keep the blades sharp for longest. Avoid hard surfaces like glass, stone, metal or very hard bamboo, which can dull or damage the edge.

How often should I use the sharpener?

Regularly, to quickly and easily hone the blades back to their proper edge.

Can the sharpener go in the dishwasher?

The ceramic wheel can be removed and washed in the dishwasher to prevent a build-up of sharpener dust, but the body itself should be wiped clean by hand.

In our experience...

A cook's knife is genuinely the one to start with if you're only buying one. Its curved blade handles a two-step chop and rock action across meat, vegetables, herbs and even crushing garlic.

A paring knife earns its place for detail work. It's built for small, intricate jobs and for peeling or scraping fruit and vegetables directly in the hand, rather than general chopping.

The chopping board you use genuinely affects blade life. Hard surfaces like glass or stone dull an edge far faster than wood or soft plastic, regardless of how good the knife itself is.

A 15 degree Japanese-style edge is a specific sharpening choice. It's a finer angle than many Western knives, which is part of what gives these a precise, clean cut.

Care & Use Instructions

Washing the knives: Rinse to remove food traces, then wash gently in warm soapy water with a soft cloth. No need to soak. Dry each knife thoroughly and individually, and apply a non-abrasive metal polish for the best finish.

Chopping boards: Use wood or soft plastic boards to keep the blades sharp for longest. Avoid glass, stone, metal or very hard bamboo.

Cleaning the sharpener: Lift the clear guard off periodically and wipe inside with a damp microfibre cloth, then dry thoroughly before replacing. The ceramic wheel can be removed and washed in the dishwasher to prevent sharpener dust building up.

Rest of the World

If your country is not listed — including the USA, Australia, and other destinations — this is most likely because couriers charge by volumetric weight: a combination of package size and weight that makes standard online rates impractical to calculate automatically.

Please call us on 01737 222996 with the details of your order. We will advise on shipping costs within 24 hours and ask whether you would like to proceed.

Before you order internationally, please note:

All overseas shipments are at your own risk. We recommend taking out appropriate transit insurance to cover any damage in transit.

Customs forms for all international packages declare the full value and a description of the contents. Any customs or import duties levied on arrival in your country are your responsibility. Your local customs office can provide further information.

Other Destinations

If your desired country or region is not listed, please contact us and we will do our best to help.
