If you are serious about your BBQ, the GLOBAL 3-Piece BBQ Set gives you everything you need for confident, well-prepared outdoor cooking in one box. At the heart of it is the limited edition G-110, a 17.5cm Japanese knife with a tall, curved blade built specifically for the prep work that comes with grilling and smoking: trimming fat, spatchcocking, slicing through ribs and carving rested joints. Alongside it is a pair of 100% leather heat-resistant gloves with long forearm cuffs for safer handling of hot grates and cast iron, and a generous 50 x 40cm two-sided bamboo board with a smooth prep side and a grooved side for collecting meat juices. It is a cohesive, well-considered set that covers the three things that make a real difference at the BBQ: a sharp knife, safe heat protection, and a proper surface to work on.
- G-110 BBQ Knife Blade: The tall, curved 17.5cm blade with a pointed tip is built for BBQ prep tasks including trimming fat, spatchcocking poultry, slicing cooked meat and breaking down larger cuts.
- 15-Degree Cromova 18 Edge: GLOBAL's convex 15-degree grind on high-carbon Cromova 18 stainless steel produces a sharper, more durable edge than a standard Western kitchen knife.
- Heat-Resistant Leather Gloves: The 100% leather gloves are heat-resistant up to 250°C, with long forearm cuffs for added protection and a comfortable cotton-lined inner.
- Two-Sided Bamboo Board: The 50 x 40cm bamboo board has a smooth side for general prep and a grooved side for collecting meat juices when carving and slicing.
- Hollow Sand-Filled Knife Handle: The G-110's hollow stainless steel handle is filled with sand to precisely counterbalance the blade, giving a natural, comfortable balance point in the hand.
What Customers Ask About This Product
Is the G-110 knife in this set the same as the one sold individually?
Yes, the G-110 in this set is the same limited edition knife sold as a standalone product. Buying the set is a good option if you want the knife alongside matching BBQ accessories, or if you are looking for a gift that covers all the essentials in one package.
Can the leather gloves be used in a conventional oven as well as at the BBQ?
The gloves are rated to 250°C, which falls within the range of most conventional oven temperatures, and they would offer heat protection in that context. That said, they are specifically designed for outdoor grilling and BBQ work. If you primarily need indoor oven gloves, a dedicated oven glove with a non-slip grip may be more practical for everyday kitchen use.
Does the bamboo board need conditioning before first use?
It is a good idea to apply a coat of food-safe mineral oil or bamboo oil before using the board for the first time. This helps seal the surface fibres and gives the board a better foundation for regular use. GLOBAL recommends continuing to oil it regularly as part of ongoing care.
Is bamboo a good surface to use with a GLOBAL knife?
Bamboo is a reasonable surface for a premium knife and is considerably gentler on edges than glass, ceramic, or hard plastic boards. It is harder than some traditional chopping board woods, so keeping the G-110's edge maintained with the appropriate sharpening tools will ensure it stays in good condition over time.
In our experience...
Leather gloves handle sustained heat better than silicone at the grill. Silicone gloves are good for quick contact, but leather provides more reliable grip and protection when you need to hold a hot cast iron grate or reposition heavy cooking equipment for longer than a second or two. The long forearm cuffs make a real difference when working over open coals or a deep smoker.
A grooved carving board is one of those things you miss when it is not there. The first time you carve a rested brisket or shoulder on a flat board and the juices run straight off the edge, you understand exactly what a juice channel is for. The grooved side of this board collects those liquids and keeps the whole carving process tidier and safer.
Side-grain bamboo copes with outdoor moisture exposure better than many woods. Bamboo's natural density makes it less absorbent than some softer woods, which is useful in outdoor settings where boards can be exposed to humidity, condensation, or light rain. It still needs drying immediately after washing, but it is genuinely more forgiving than a softer hardwood board in variable conditions.
A sharp knife is safer than a blunt one when prepping large cuts of meat. When you are handling a whole shoulder or a rack of ribs, a blunt knife requires more force and is more likely to slip. Keeping the G-110's edge maintained with tools designed for the 15-degree geometry means less effort, better control, and a cleaner result.
Regular oiling makes a real difference to a bamboo board's lifespan. Food-safe mineral oil or bamboo oil applied periodically fills the surface fibres and prevents the board from drying out and cracking. How often depends on use, but a board that gets regular outdoor use will benefit from more frequent oiling than one kept in a dry kitchen cupboard.

Care & Use Instructions
Washing the knife: Hand wash the G-110 only in warm soapy water and dry it immediately with a soft cloth. Do not put it in the dishwasher, as harsh detergents and heat cycles will damage the edge and may cause discolouration.
Cleaning the gloves: Wipe the gloves clean with a damp cloth to remove grease and residue after use. Avoid using soap, soaking them in water, or putting them in the washing machine. Store in a cool, dry place when not in use.
Washing the board: Wash the bamboo board with warm, soapy water after each use. Do not soak it or put it in the dishwasher. Dry it immediately and allow it to air dry fully before storing.
Oiling the board: Apply food-safe mineral oil or bamboo oil to the board regularly to keep the surface in good condition. An initial oiling before first use is recommended. How often to re-oil will depend on how frequently the board is used.
Sharpening the knife: Use a sharpening tool designed for a 15-degree edge angle to maintain the G-110's blade. GLOBAL produces its own range of sharpening tools designed for this purpose. Avoid standard honing steels or V-type sharpeners, which are not suited to the convex edge geometry.
