What Customers Ask About This Product
Does it come with a pan?
No, the steamer is designed to sit on top of Le Creuset's 16cm, 18cm or 20cm 3-ply Stainless Steel casseroles, which are sold separately.
Can I stack more than one steamer?
Yes, up to two steamers can be stacked to cook different ingredients at the same time.
Is it dishwasher safe?
Yes, this steamer is dishwasher safe.
How long is it guaranteed for?
It comes with a 2 year guarantee.
In our experience...
A stacking steamer is really two tools in one. Being able to add a second steamer means you can cook two different vegetables at once without needing two separate pans on the hob.
The stepped base is a deliberate fit, not a generic size. It's designed specifically around Le Creuset's own 16, 18 and 20cm 3-ply casseroles, so it's worth checking those sizes match what you already own.
The glass lid matters more for steaming than most cooking. Being able to see the food without lifting the lid means less steam and heat escaping, which is exactly what steaming depends on.
A shorter guarantee here isn't unusual. At 2 years, it's shorter than Le Creuset's lifetime cookware guarantee, which is typical for accessory pieces like steamer inserts rather than core pans.
Cold water is still worth avoiding on hot steel. Plunging it into or filling it with cold water while hot can cause damage from the sudden change in temperature.
