In our experience...
The design nods to the 1960s. The diamond-shaped knob and handle echo the Moka of the 60s.
A moka is measured in cups. The 3 cup makes 130ml of brewed coffee, while the 6 cup makes 250ml.
A gasket keeps the seal. This moka has a silicone gasket, and Bialetti advises checking it before each use.
Gentle heat suits a moka. Bialetti's tip is to set the flame to low and take your time.
Rinse, don't scrub with detergent. Water only after each use protects the taste of your coffee.
Specifications
Care & Use Instructions
Before each use: This coffee maker needs a heat source to work and builds up pressure inside. Before each use, make sure it isn't damaged and has all its parts, and check that the valve, funnel, gasket and filter plate are intact and correctly positioned. Not following the instructions can risk burns or the coffee maker bursting. If you have any doubts, contact the dealer or the manufacturer.
Making coffee: Pour room-temperature water into the boiler up to the safety valve, and don't go above it or your coffee will be too watery. Fill the funnel generously with ground coffee, without pressing it down. Put it on the hob on a low flame and take your time. When you hear it gurgle, the coffee is ready, so take it off the heat and enjoy.
Cleaning: Rinse with water only after each use. Do not use detergents, and do not wash it in the dishwasher, as this could damage the product and affect the taste of the coffee.
