Before first use: Wash in hot soapy water, rinse and dry thoroughly.
BBQ use only: Only use this basket on an outdoor BBQ grill grate. Never use on indoor hobs, in ovens, or in pizza ovens. Grease dripping through the perforations can cause dangerous flare-ups in enclosed cooking environments.
Setting up: Always place on a rack. Never in direct contact with embers. Leave at least 5cm between the rack and the embers. Lightly oil the basket before adding food to prevent sticking.
During cooking: Ensure flames do not extend around the sidewalls. Keep flames confined to the base. Use heat-resistant gloves when handling, as cast iron retains heat and will be very hot.
After cooking: Allow to cool gradually. Do not plunge into cold water. Once cool, wash in hot soapy water. For residue in perforations, soak briefly and use a stiff non-metal brush. Dishwasher safe.
What to avoid: Never use on indoor cooking surfaces. Avoid abrasive cleaners or metal scourers. Do not subject to sudden temperature changes.
