The wide base and low sides make this casserole wonderfully versatile, from braising and stir-frying to baking. It's a beginner-friendly piece that handles a huge range of recipes.
- Wide, shallow shape: Plenty of room for browning, braising and one-pot bakes.
- Even heat: Cast iron spreads and holds heat for even cooking and browning.
- Tight-fitting lid: Keeps moisture in for tender, flavourful results.
- Easy-grip handles: Comfortable handles for safe lifting.
- Hob to oven: Works on every hob, including induction, and in the oven up to 200°C.
What Customers Ask About This Product
Can I put it straight on the table?
Yes, it's made to go from hob to oven to table. Always stand it on a trivet or heat-resistant mat, as the base stays hot for a long time.
Can I store leftovers in it?
Yes. The enamel is non-porous, so it's fine for keeping raw or cooked food in the fridge. Let it cool to room temperature first, and make sure your fridge shelf can take the weight.
Can I use it on a barbecue or in a pizza oven?
No. Le Creuset advise against barbecues, open fires and pizza ovens, because the uncontrolled heat can seriously damage cast iron. Keep it to the hob and oven.
Can it go in the microwave?
No. It's made of metal, so it would damage your microwave. Reheat food on the hob or in the oven instead.
In our experience...
More surface, more browning. A wide base gives food room to sear rather than steam, which builds more flavour.
Liquid reduces faster. Low sides let steam escape, so sauces thicken more quickly than in a deep pot.
Finish in the oven. Start a braise on the hob, then move it to the oven, where the all-round heat cooks it gently and evenly.

Care & Use Instructions
Before first use: Remove all labels and packaging, then wash in warm, soapy water, rinse and dry thoroughly.
Cooking: Use low to medium heat, even for frying and searing, and let it heat up gradually. Use the hob ring closest in size to the base, and lift it on and off glass hobs rather than sliding it. Always use oven gloves, as the handles get hot.
Oven use: Oven safe up to 200°C with the phenolic knob. Don't use it under the grill.
Utensils: Silicone, wooden or heat-resistant plastic utensils are best for protecting the enamel.
Cleaning: Always wash by hand. Let it cool first, then soak any stuck-on food in warm, soapy water for 15 to 20 minutes. Avoid abrasive cleaners and scourers, and dry thoroughly before storing.
