Microplane's sharp coarse blade in a sleek, all-black finish. It shreds cheese, carrot, ginger and coconut with very little effort, and looks good enough to leave out on the side.
- All-black design: Stainless steel from end to end, with a scratch-resistant black PVD coating.
- Photo-etched blade: Ultra-sharp coarse blade, made in the USA, cuts cleanly rather than tearing.
- Velvety handle: A soft-feel finish that's comfortable to hold.
- Non-slip base: Stays steady while you grate.
- Protective cover: Keeps the blade and your fingers safe in the drawer.
What Customers Ask About This Product
What's the difference between the Gourmet, Master and Black Sheep graters?
They share the same photo-etched, made-in-the-USA blades. The Gourmet Series has a soft-touch plastic handle, the Master Series a walnut handle, and the Black Sheep Series is black PVD-coated stainless steel from end to end. Choose by the handle you prefer to hold and how you want it to look.
Is it coarse enough for cheese on toast?
Yes. It makes medium shreds that melt evenly, ideal for toasties and gratin toppings. For soft cheese or potato, the Extra Coarse is the next size up.
In our experience...
Etched blades cut rather than tear. Photo-etched teeth slice food cleanly, where punched graters rip it. That gives lighter, fluffier cheese and zest, and less effort for you.
Chill soft cheese before grating. Firm it up in the fridge or freezer for 15 to 20 minutes and it grates neatly instead of smearing across the blade.
Let the blade do the work. Sharp teeth need only light, steady strokes. Pressing hard doesn't grate faster and makes it easier to catch your knuckles.

Care & Use Instructions
Daily cleaning: Rinse under running water straight after use, before food dries on, then let it drip dry.
Washing: Handwash only, in warm soapy water. The dishwasher blunts and chips fine blades over time, so they won't stay as sharp.
Storage: Keep the protective cover on the blade when it's in a drawer, to protect the blade and your fingers.
