Wiping the steam wand after each use removes surface milk residue, but over time milk proteins and fats build up inside the wand tip and around the steam holes in ways that a cloth cannot reach. The Steam Wand Cleaner's soaking solution breaks down that internal residue, which affects steam flow and milk texturing quality if left unchecked. Both regular wiping and periodic deep cleaning are recommended.

Can I use this with milk frothers as well as espresso machines?

Yes. The Steam Wand Cleaner is also suitable for use with milk frothers. The soaking method is the same: dissolve a sachet in 250ml of hot water, soak the frothing attachment for at least an hour, then rinse and run a steam or froth cycle with clean water before use.

Care & Use Instructions

How to use: Add 1 sachet into an empty milk jug or similar container. Add 1 cup (250ml) of hot water. Unscrew the steam wand tip and place it into the hot water along with the steam wand. Leave to soak for at least 1 hour.

After soaking: Thoroughly clean the steam tip and screw it back onto the steam wand. Place the wand back into the jug and activate the steam cycle for 10 seconds. Discard the solution and rinse the jug.

Final rinse: Add 1 cup (250ml) of hot water into the jug. Place the steam wand into the jug and activate the steam cycle. Wipe the steam wand dry with a clean cloth.
