The Oracle Dual Boiler is Sage's most fully featured home espresso machine, combining stainless steel dual boilers for simultaneous extraction and steaming with a new Auto Dial-In system that monitors each shot and automatically adjusts grind settings to improve consistency. Electronic Grind Adjust handles grinding, dosing, and tamping automatically using Baratza European precision burrs with 45 settings, delivering a 22g dose through a professional 58mm portafilter. Auto MilQ textures milk hands-free with calibrated settings for dairy, soy, almond, and oat across 9 texture levels. A 5.7-inch high-definition touchscreen lets you switch between Auto mode for full automation and Manual mode for hands-on control. The Sage+ Coffee App lets you remotely power on and pre-heat the machine via Wi-Fi so it is ready when you are.
- Auto Dial-In system: Continuously monitors each extraction for under or over-extraction and automatically adjusts grind settings to improve consistency and taste between shots.
- Stainless steel dual boiler with triple heating: Dedicated steam and espresso boilers allow simultaneous extraction and steaming, with PID temperature control adjustable in 1-degree increments across the system.
- Electronic Grind Adjust with 45 settings: Automatically grinds, doses, and tamps each puck using Baratza European precision burrs with 45 grind settings, delivering a consistent 22g dose through the 58mm portafilter.
- Auto MilQ with alternative milk settings: Hands-free milk texturing with calibrated settings for dairy, soy, almond, and oat; adjustable temperature from 45 to 75°C across 9 texture levels; cool touch steam wand with ring pull.
- Sage+ Coffee App with Wi-Fi connectivity: Remotely power on and pre-heat the machine via the Sage+ app on a Wi-Fi connected device, so the machine is ready before you reach the kitchen.
What Customers Ask About This Product
What does the Auto Dial-In system actually do?
After each extraction, the Auto Dial-In system analyses the shot and identifies whether it was under or over-extracted. It then automatically adjusts the grind settings for the next shot to correct towards a more balanced extraction. Over multiple shots, this reduces the trial-and-error involved in dialling in a new coffee and helps maintain consistency as beans age or conditions change.
What is the difference between Auto mode and Manual mode?
In Auto mode, the machine handles grinding, dosing, tamping, extraction, and milk texturing automatically, guided by the touchscreen presets. In Manual mode, you take direct control of the steam wand and extraction parameters, giving you the hands-on experience of a traditional semi-automatic machine. You can switch between the two modes on the touchscreen depending on what you want from each session.
What does the Sage+ app do, and do I need it?
The Sage+ app connects to the Oracle Dual Boiler via Wi-Fi and lets you remotely power on and pre-heat the machine before you arrive in the kitchen. You do not need it to use the machine, but it is a useful convenience if you want your machine warmed up and ready without waiting. The machine operates fully without the app.
How does this compare to the Oracle Touch?
The Oracle Dual Boiler adds the Auto Dial-In grind correction system, Electronic Grind Adjust, a more powerful Quad-Core CPU, a larger 5.7-inch touchscreen, Wi-Fi connectivity via the Sage+ app, and 16 pre-set recipes compared to the Oracle Touch's 5. The dual boiler system is present on both. If automatic grind correction and app connectivity are a priority, the Oracle Dual Boiler is the more capable machine.
In our experience...
Auto Dial-In is most valuable when switching between different coffees. Grind settings that work well for one bean often need adjustment for another due to differences in roast level, density, and moisture content. A system that monitors extraction quality and adjusts automatically shortens the process of dialling in a new coffee from multiple manual attempts to one or two shots.
Dual boilers remove the most common workflow bottleneck in home espresso. Single-boiler machines require the machine to switch temperature between brewing and steaming, which means waiting. Dual boilers maintain separate temperatures for each function simultaneously, so you can start steaming milk the moment extraction finishes. Over hundreds of mornings, this time saving is significant.
PID control adjustable to one degree matters more for light roasts. Light roast coffees typically extract better at slightly higher temperatures than dark roasts, as their compounds are less soluble. A machine that lets you adjust brew temperature in precise increments allows you to optimise for specific coffees rather than accepting a fixed factory temperature.
A 58mm portafilter produces a wider, more even coffee bed than 54mm. A wider basket distributes the same dose over a larger surface area, which means water has to travel a shorter distance through the puck. This generally makes extraction more even and more forgiving of slight inconsistencies in grind distribution, which is why 58mm is the standard in commercial café machines.
Remote pre-heating changes the morning workflow more than it might seem. A dual boiler machine at this level takes several minutes to reach stable operating temperature. Being able to trigger pre-heating from another room means you are not standing by the machine waiting. The shot you pull at a fully stabilised temperature is more consistent than one pulled before the machine has fully settled.

Care & Use Instructions
Daily maintenance: After steaming milk, purge the steam wand briefly and wipe immediately with a damp cloth. Rinse the portafilter and filter baskets after each use. Empty the drip tray regularly. Use the Knock Box included in the accessories for puck disposal.
Weekly cleaning: Remove and wash the drip tray and water tank. Use the cleaning brush to clear the group head and grinder chute. Wipe down all exterior surfaces with a damp cloth.
Regular backflushing: Use the cleaning disc and cleaning tablets to backflush the group head periodically. This removes coffee oil build-up from the internal pathways and maintains extraction quality.
Steam wand maintenance: Use the included steam wand tip cleaning tool regularly to keep the tip clear. Wipe the wand immediately after each use. Periodic deep cleaning with the included steam wand cleaning powder prevents internal milk residue build-up.
Descaling and filter replacement: Replace the water filter as recommended, typically every 2 to 3 months depending on water hardness and usage. Use the included water hardness strip to monitor mineral content. When prompted, run the descaling programme using the included descaling powder.
For best results: Use fresh quality beans stored in an airtight container. Allow the machine to reach full operating temperature before pulling your first shot. Purge the group head briefly before locking in the portafilter. Use the Auto Dial-In system to let the machine optimise grind settings when switching to a new coffee.
