Quick Overview: 3-piece set with ceramic non-stick coating: 16cm saucepan, 20cm and 24cm casseroles with glass lids, induction compatible.

GreenPan Copenhagen Aluminium Non-Stick 3 Piece Cookware Set

The GreenPan Copenhagen 3 Piece Set provides essential cookware for everyday cooking with ceramic non-stick technology. This set includes a 16cm saucepan without lid (1.6L), a 20cm casserole with lid (3.1L), and a 24cm casserole with lid (4.9L). Each piece features Thermolon Infinity Pro coating enhanced with diamonds and is fully PFAS-free, offering an alternative to traditional PTFE-based non-stick surfaces.

Set includes:

  • 16cm Saucepan (1.6L): Suitable for heating milk, making sauces, cooking rice for 1-2 people, or preparing small portions
  • 20cm Casserole with glass lid (3.1L): Accommodates pasta for 2-3 people, vegetables for 4, soups, or braising smaller joints of meat
  • 24cm Casserole with glass lid (4.9L): Holds pasta for 4-5 people, batch cooking, family-sized stews, or roasting joints in the oven

Key features:

  • Thermolon Infinity Pro coating: Ceramic non-stick surface infused with diamond particles for enhanced scratch resistance, free from PFAS, PFOA, lead, and cadmium
  • Casseroles include glass lids: Tempered glass lids with steam vents allow monitoring without lifting, retaining heat and moisture
  • Magneto induction base: Aluminium body with magnetic base layer works on all hob types including induction, gas, electric, and ceramic
  • Oven capability: Oven safe to 220°C for finishing dishes or transferring from hob to oven
  • 25% extra cooking surface: Optimised shape provides wider usable base area compared to standard pan dimensions
  • Matte stainless steel handles: Stay-cool design contributes to the Copenhagen collection's minimalist aesthetic

This set suits households establishing their first kitchen, replacing worn cookware, or wanting PFAS-free non-stick performance across multiple pan sizes with consistent handling and care requirements.

What Customers Ask About This Set

Is this enough for a complete kitchen setup?

This set covers essential everyday cooking tasks—sauces, rice, pasta, vegetables, soups, and smaller braises. However, you'll likely want to add a frying pan for eggs and searing, and possibly a larger stockpot if you batch cook or make preserves. Consider this a foundation set that handles liquid-based cooking well but benefits from supplementary pans for other techniques.

What's the difference between the saucepan and the casseroles?

The 16cm saucepan has higher, narrower sides relative to its base—designed for liquids like sauces, milk, and small quantities. The 20cm and 24cm casseroles are wider and shallower, providing more surface area for browning ingredients before adding liquid, making them more versatile for one-pot meals, braising, and dishes requiring both searing and simmering.

Can I buy replacement lids if one breaks?

GreenPan may sell replacement lids separately, though availability varies. Universal glass lids in 16cm, 20cm, and 24cm sizes are also available from various manufacturers. Measure the interior rim diameter of your pan to ensure proper fit when purchasing universal lids. Contact us on +44 1737 222996 to check if we stock compatible replacement lids.

Are the glass lids oven safe to 220°C?

Tempered glass lids typically tolerate oven temperatures, but the lid handles or rim seals may have lower temperature ratings than the 220°C specified for the pans. Check each lid for specific markings or contact GreenPan for confirmation. If in doubt, use the pans in the oven without their lids or below 180°C with lids.

Will these last as long as stainless steel or cast iron?

The aluminium pan bodies with proper care can last many years—GreenPan provides a lifetime warranty on the construction. However, ceramic non-stick coatings are consumable surfaces that typically maintain good performance for 3-5 years of regular use (warranted for 5 years). Eventually, you'll need to replace the pans when the coating degrades. Stainless steel or cast iron cookware can last decades, but requires different cooking techniques and doesn't offer non-stick properties.

Can I stack these inside each other for storage?

Yes, the set is designed for nesting storage. Place a cloth or paper towel between pans when stacking to protect the ceramic coating from scratches. The glass lids store separately. Proper stacking extends coating life and saves cupboard space.

What Each Pan Does Best

16cm Saucepan (1.6L)

Best for: Heating 2-3 mugs of milk, making custard or béchamel for 2-3 people, cooking 200g rice (serves 2), warming single-serving soups, melting butter or chocolate, preparing porridge for 1-2.

Limitations: Too small for family pasta, insufficient for batch cooking. Use for small quantities or secondary tasks whilst cooking main dishes in larger pans.

20cm Casserole (3.1L)

Best for: Cooking pasta for 2-3 people, preparing vegetables for 4, making soup for 3-4 servings, braising 2-3 chicken breasts, cooking 400g rice (serves 4), one-pot meals for small households.

Limitations: May be cramped for browning larger quantities of meat. Better for foods requiring both browning and liquid than purely dry cooking.

24cm Casserole (4.9L)

Best for: Cooking pasta for 4-5 people, batch cooking soups or stews, braising larger joints of meat, preparing curry for 6 people, making risotto for 4-6, family-sized one-pot meals.

Limitations: Still insufficient for whole-chicken cooking or very large batches. Consider a 6L+ pan if you regularly cook for 6+ people or make preserves.

Care & Use Instructions

Before first use: Wash all pieces with warm soapy water, dry thoroughly, then lightly oil the interior surfaces. Heat each pan on low for 2-3 minutes, wipe away excess oil, and allow to cool. This prepares the ceramic coating for use.

Daily cleaning: Hand wash with warm soapy water and a soft sponge. Whilst dishwasher safe, hand washing significantly extends the coating's lifespan. Clean lids separately, taking care with the steam vents. Avoid abrasive scrubbers or harsh cleaning agents.

Cooking technique: Use low to medium heat only. Ceramic non-stick performs best at moderate temperatures and aluminium heats quickly. Preheat gradually for 1-2 minutes before adding food. Use a small amount of oil or butter—ceramic requires some fat for best results and coating longevity.

Critical: Avoid cooking sprays. Aerosol cooking sprays contain propellants and additives that create buildup on ceramic coatings, reducing non-stick properties over time. Use liquid oil applied with a brush or paper towel instead. This is the most common cause of premature coating failure in ceramic cookware.

Storage: Nest pans with cloth or paper towels between each piece to prevent scratching. Store lids separately or balanced on top to avoid putting weight on the ceramic coating. Proper storage extends coating life significantly.

Avoid: High heat (permanently damages ceramic coating), thermal shock (don't plunge hot pans into cold water), metal utensils (scratches coating), and leaving empty pans on heat.

Restoring performance: If food begins to stick, make a paste of bicarbonate of soda and water, gently scrub the interior, rinse thoroughly, and re-season with oil. This removes buildup and can restore some non-stick properties.

Frequently Asked Questions

What if I've used it and the coating isn't performing well?

Return it anyway. Our no quibble guarantee covers used items—if it doesn't perform as you wanted, we'll refund you. This applies even after you've cooked with the set. Some customers find ceramic non-stick requires adjustment in technique compared to PTFE, particularly regarding heat levels.

How does the warranty work?

GreenPan provides a limited lifetime guarantee on the pan bodies and a 5-year guarantee on the non-stick coating. If you experience manufacturing defects, contact us with your proof of purchase and we'll coordinate with GreenPan. Normal wear and tear on the coating isn't covered, but our half-price replacement policy may apply for accidental damage within 2 years.

Can I replace just one piece if it gets damaged?

Contact us on +44 1737 222996 to check if we stock individual pieces from the Copenhagen range. GreenPan sometimes sells individual pans separately, though availability varies. If individual replacement isn't available, our half-price replacement policy applies to the entire set within 2 years of purchase for accidental damage.

Can I use these on high heat?

No, ceramic non-stick should only be used on low to medium heat. High heat permanently damages the coating's non-stick properties. This is particularly important with aluminium pans, which heat quickly. Medium heat is sufficient for all tasks suited to these pans.

Will the handles get hot on the hob?

The stainless steel handles are designed to stay cool during normal hob use due to their distance from the heat source and the hollow construction. However, they will become hot in the oven or during extended cooking at high heat. Use oven gloves when handling pans that have been in the oven or cooking for extended periods.

How does the Half-Price Replacement guarantee work?

Valid for 2 years from purchase date. If you accidentally damage this set, we'll replace it at half price with proof of purchase and evidence of damage. Photos are acceptable. This covers accidental damage not included in the manufacturer's warranty.

Why is hand washing recommended if they're dishwasher safe?

Dishwashers use harsh detergents and high temperatures that can dull the exterior finish and gradually degrade ceramic coatings. Hand washing with mild soap preserves both the non-stick properties and the matte black exterior appearance. This applies to most premium non-stick cookware.
