GreenPan Copenhagen Aluminium Non-Stick Frying Pan
The GreenPan Copenhagen frying pan combines sophisticated minimalist design with healthy cooking technology. Made from premium aluminium with GreenPan's Thermolon Infinity Pro ceramic non-stick coating, this pan is completely free from PFAS, PFOA, lead, and cadmium. The optimised pan shape offers 25% more cooking surface than traditional frying pans of the same diameter, providing extra room for family-sized meals without cramped cooking.
The diamond-enhanced coating delivers exceptional non-stick performance whilst the Magneto induction base ensures even heat distribution on all hob types. The matte stainless steel handle remains comfortable during stovetop cooking and allows safe oven use up to 220°C.
Key features:
- Thermolon Infinity Pro coating: Diamond-enhanced ceramic non-stick that's fully PFAS-free and won't release toxic fumes even if accidentally overheated
- 25% extra cooking surface: Optimised shape provides more usable cooking area than traditional frying pans
- Scratch Guard technology: Reinforced surface for maximum strength and scratch resistance during everyday use
- Magneto induction base: Energy-efficient technology ensures even heating on all hob types including induction
- Oven safe to 220°C: Durable riveted stainless steel handle allows stovetop-to-oven cooking
- Dishwasher safe: Easy-clean exterior and interior, though handwashing extends coating longevity
This frying pan suits health-conscious cooks who want high-performance non-stick without chemical concerns, available in four sizes to match your cooking needs: 20cm for individual portions, 24cm and 28cm for everyday family cooking, and 30cm for larger meals or entertaining.
What Customers Ask About GreenPan Copenhagen
Is this coating really safer than traditional non-stick?
Yes. GreenPan's Thermolon coating is made from a sand derivative (silica) rather than plastic-based PTFE, and the manufacturing process uses no PFAS, PFOA, lead, or cadmium. Traditional non-stick coatings can release toxic fumes when overheated; Thermolon won't release harmful fumes even if accidentally overheated, as it's heat resistant up to 450°C. The coating is cured in an oven rather than requiring chemical bonding agents.
What does "diamond-enhanced" actually mean?
The Thermolon Infinity Pro coating is infused with diamond particles during manufacturing, which significantly increases the coating's hardness and scratch resistance. This makes the surface more durable for daily use compared to standard ceramic coatings. It's not a marketing claim – the diamond reinforcement is part of the coating's physical composition.
Which size should I choose?
The 20cm suits single portions (fried eggs, small omelettes, reheating). The 24cm handles two portions comfortably and fits most recipes calling for a "medium frying pan". The 28cm is ideal for family cooking – four chicken breasts, stir-fries for 3-4 people, or larger omelettes. The 30cm provides maximum cooking surface for larger families or batch cooking. Measure your most-used hob ring and your typical portion sizes to decide.
How does the 25% extra cooking surface work?
GreenPan has optimised the Copenhagen's shape to maximise the flat base area. Traditional frying pans have steeper sides that reduce usable cooking surface; Copenhagen's design creates a larger flat cooking zone. For example, the 28cm Copenhagen offers approximately the same cooking surface as a traditional 30cm pan, whilst fitting on smaller hobs and taking less storage space.
Can I use metal utensils on this?
Whilst the Scratch Guard technology provides enhanced scratch resistance, GreenPan recommends wooden, silicone, or nylon utensils to maximise the coating's longevity. The diamond reinforcement does make it more resistant to occasional contact with metal utensils than standard ceramic coatings, but repeated use of metal implements will eventually affect any non-stick surface.
Will this work on my induction hob?
Yes. The Magneto induction base technology ensures excellent performance on induction hobs as well as gas, electric, and ceramic hobs. The magnetic coating on the base prevents warping, ensures even heat distribution, and provides faster heating times than standard aluminium pans on induction.

Care & Use Instructions
Before first use: Wash in warm soapy water, rinse, and dry thoroughly. Condition the pan by rubbing a small amount of cooking oil over the surface with kitchen paper, then wipe away excess. Heat the pan on low for 2 minutes, then allow to cool before first use.
Daily cooking: Always heat the pan gradually on low to medium heat – high heat isn't necessary due to the excellent heat conductivity. Add a small amount of oil or butter for best results and to extend coating life. Avoid cooking sprays as they can build up residue over time.
Cleaning: Allow the pan to cool before washing. Handwash with warm soapy water and a soft sponge or cloth – this preserves the coating better than dishwashing. For stubborn residue, soak in warm water for 10-15 minutes before washing. Whilst dishwasher safe, regular machine washing may gradually reduce the coating's non-stick performance over time.
Avoid: Metal utensils (use wooden, silicone, or nylon instead), aerosol cooking sprays, abrasive scourers, harsh detergents, thermal shock (don't plunge hot pan into cold water), and extreme high heat. Never use the pan on maximum heat settings.
Storage: If stacking pans, place a cloth or pan protector between them to prevent surface scratches. Store in a dry location.

Frequently Asked Questions
What if I've used it and don't like it?
Return it anyway. Our no quibble guarantee covers used items - if it doesn't do what you wanted, we'll refund you. This applies even after you've cooked with it. We've offered this guarantee since 1972 because we believe customers shouldn't take a risk when purchasing cookware.
How does the Half-Price Replacement guarantee work?
Valid for 2 years from purchase date. If you accidentally damage this pan, we'll replace it at half the current retail price with proof of purchase and evidence of damage. Photos of the damage are acceptable. This covers accidental breakage, warping, or damage – but doesn't cover normal wear to the non-stick coating over time.
Does this come with a manufacturer's warranty?
Yes. GreenPan provides a limited lifetime warranty on the pan body covering defects in materials and workmanship under normal domestic use. The Thermolon non-stick coating is covered separately for 5 years. This warranty requires following GreenPan's care instructions. Our guarantees operate alongside, not instead of, the manufacturer's warranty.
How long does delivery take?
Standard delivery to mainland UK addresses can take up to 7 working days, but is usually 3-4, and is free for orders over £49. Next day delivery may be available for £9.95 on orders placed before 1pm Monday to Thursday, depending on your location and our stock levels. You can also collect from our shops in Cobham or Reigate, or our warehouse in Redhill.
Will the non-stick coating wear out?
All non-stick coatings gradually lose performance with use – how quickly depends on care. Following the care instructions (especially avoiding high heat, using appropriate utensils, and handwashing when possible) significantly extends coating life. GreenPan's diamond-enhanced coating typically lasts longer than standard ceramic coatings. The 5-year warranty on the coating reflects expected longevity with proper care.
Can I use this in the oven with a glass lid?
The pan itself is oven safe to 220°C. If you're using a separate glass lid (not included), check the lid manufacturer's temperature rating separately – many glass lids are only rated to 180°C. Never exceed the lower of the two temperature ratings.
Is this suitable for high-heat searing?
The pan can handle medium-high heat, but ceramic non-stick performs best at low to medium temperatures. For traditional high-heat searing (as with steaks), cast iron or stainless steel pans typically deliver better results. This pan excels at medium-heat cooking – omelettes, pancakes, sautéing vegetables, and foods that benefit from non-stick release.
What's the difference between Copenhagen and other GreenPan ranges?
Copenhagen features the Thermolon Infinity Pro coating (diamond-enhanced), whilst some other GreenPan ranges use different coating grades. Copenhagen also has the distinctive minimalist design with matte stainless steel handles and the optimised shape offering 25% extra cooking surface. Other ranges may have different handle materials (such as wood on Mayflower) or construction methods. All GreenPan ranges share the core PFAS-free Thermolon technology.
