What Customers Ask About Le Creuset Rectangular Dish 32cm
Can I use this dish under the grill?
Yes, this stoneware dish can be used under the grill up to 260°C. Always maintain at least 6.5cm (2½ inches) between the heat source and the top of the dish, as recommended by Le Creuset. Use oven gloves when handling, as stoneware retains heat extremely well.
Can I take this directly from the freezer to a hot oven?
No, you should not place a frozen dish into a preheated oven. Instead, place the frozen dish in a cold oven, set your desired temperature, and allow both to heat up together. This prevents thermal shock that could damage the stoneware. When reheating dishes at room temperature, avoid preheating your oven above 205°C (400°F).
How does stoneware compare to cast iron for oven dishes?
Stoneware typically weighs less than cast iron whilst still maintaining excellent heat retention and even cooking. It's naturally non-reactive with acidic foods (useful for tomato-based dishes), requires no seasoning, and the glazed finish makes cleaning simpler than cast iron. Cast iron may retain heat slightly longer and can move from hob to oven, whereas stoneware is oven-only. For dedicated baking and roasting dishes, stoneware offers practical advantages.
What size portions does a 32cm dish serve?
A 32cm rectangular dish typically serves 4-6 people for main courses like lasagne or roasted chicken, though capacity depends on the depth of ingredients. If you regularly cook for larger groups or want generous leftovers, Le Creuset offers this design in different sizes to suit your needs.
Is the Juniper colour safe from fading?
Le Creuset's glazed finishes are fired at high temperatures, creating colour that's resistant to fading, staining, and scratching under normal use. The glaze is part of the stoneware itself rather than a surface coating, so the colour remains vibrant through years of use, dishwashing, and temperature changes.

Care & Use Instructions
Before first use: Remove all labels and packaging. Wash in warm, soapy water, then rinse and dry thoroughly.
Cooking guidelines: Always use oven gloves when handling hot stoneware. When using under the grill, maintain at least 6.5cm (2½ inches) between the heat source and the dish top. Never place a frozen dish directly into a preheated oven – instead, place it in a cold oven and allow both to heat together. For dishes at room temperature, avoid preheating above 205°C (400°F). When adding liquid to a hot dish in the oven, remove it first and allow to cool for a few minutes.
Cleaning: Allow the dish to cool before cleaning. For stuck-on food, fill with warm soapy water and soak for 15-20 minutes before washing. Either handwash and dry, or place in the dishwasher for a full cycle. The scratch-resistant glaze makes cleaning straightforward.
Storage: Store in a dry location. The dish is freezer-safe, making it suitable for batch cooking and frozen meal preparation.
Avoid: Thermal shock by following the heating guidelines above. Do not use on hob, stovetop, or direct flame – this stoneware is designed for oven, grill, and freezer use only.

Frequently Asked Questions
What if I've used it and don't like it?
Return it anyway. Our no quibble guarantee covers used items - if it doesn't do what you wanted, we'll refund you. This applies even after you've cooked with it. We've offered this guarantee since 1972.
How does the Half-Price Replacement guarantee work?
Valid for 2 years from purchase date. If you accidentally break this dish, we'll replace it at half price with proof of purchase and evidence of damage. Photos are acceptable. This works alongside Le Creuset's 10-year warranty, giving you comprehensive protection.
How does Le Creuset's 10-year warranty work?
Le Creuset offers a 10-year guarantee on their stoneware against manufacturing defects. This covers issues with materials or workmanship but excludes damage from misuse, thermal shock, or accidents. Keep your proof of purchase. For warranty claims, contact us and we'll guide you through the process.
How long does delivery take?
Standard delivery to mainland UK addresses can take up to 7 working days, but is usually 3-4, and is free for orders over £49. Next day delivery may be available for £9.95 on orders placed before 1pm Monday to Thursday, depending on your location and our stock levels. You can also collect from our shops in Cobham or Reigate, or our warehouse in Redhill.
Can I use metal utensils in this dish?
Whilst the glazed surface is scratch-resistant, we recommend using wooden, silicone, or nylon utensils to preserve the finish over years of use. Metal utensils won't damage the functionality but may eventually mark the glaze aesthetically.
Does Le Creuset make lids that fit this dish?
No, they do not. For a dish this size, if you want or need to cover it, we would recommend a silicone food cover or tin foil.
